6-top. Boum! Right there, you know if you do a good job, you're gonna get a great tip on a 400- dollar meal. And yet...... Six came in, and 5 came out...no just joking.... But there were 6 of us. It was a birthday dinner. All family. We ordered apps: calamari, steak bites , crab cakes, and lamb lollipops. The calamari was delicious, steak bites were...ok ( needed cumin and salt to dip in), crab cakes were yummy, and the lollipops would've been better served with mint jelly, but ok. Side note: At this restaurant, you place your entire 4-course meal order, at the beginning. So far, so good. Marc gave us the great schpiel about how the family immigrated here, and then i forgot what he said, but somehow they opened up this place. Bragging about the steak. The plates came out: steak combo for bro, more lamb lollipops for sissy-in-law, kids burger and spaghetti for our 10-year old, stuffed cabbage for my honey, and my chic parm. Yummy ! We are ready to eat ! But wait.... where's my nephew's schnitzel? Not here. Actually, the waiter had given my chic parm to him and said he'd be right back with mine. But he then came out and told us that nephew had mine and the schnitzel would be right out. The item was forgotten. This was bad. You can't just fast-cook a schnitzel. So we're ALL waiting now for the last meal to come out. 12-17 minutes later, it does. All our plates are niw cold. Sissy got up and complained. As did I. Ok, so now we're all fed, and here comes desert. I'm super excited about getting my tiramisue!!! All deserts are plated nicely and delivered Creme brulee for the girls, can't remember what the boys ordered, but Marc looks pleased with himself, thinking he'd earned forgiveness. Alas, he looks over at me and my sad eyes and asked in a puzzled voice " you didn't order desert?" The moment the last syllable left his lips, he remembered...ah yes, the tiramisue! It's ready, I just didn't have enough room on the platter, says he. Everyone was done eating by the time my desert came out. I.was.furious. You forget an entree, whatever. You then forget a desert. !!! No no no....I don't think so. We got some financial compensation, but I have to say I was pretty disappointed. This is a place that sells " the experience " factor. And for us, it was ruined. Will I go back ? Yes, I believe I will. Why? Well, mistakes happen, and everyone deserves a second chance. I can only hope we have a better experience. Marc is a good server, and the food is tasty.
Time will tell...
Read moreThe reservation started out great for my wife’s birthday. Even a hand written card was on the table. The exceptional entry to dinner quickly went down hill. There was confusion about not being able to serve the asparagus bc of it being frozen too long and not appropriate to serve and then magically it was served to us. Being told this, the 2nd waiter had no idea and took it away. Turns out that the owner ran across the street to get more for us. If that was true, maybe fill that part in to us before we sent it back. Just an idea. That issue was not worthy of a review, what happened next is. My wife’s steak was over cooked and the manager came out to verify “who exactly made the complaint”. Once established, he preceded to imply that the steak was a perfect medium. I compared it to my actually perfect medium steak and wanted to offer to bring the chef a working thermometer or possibly a light bulb for the kitchen that made the steak appear a perfect medium to his professional eye. The steak was brought back out under cooked, cold to the touch, which the mgr agreed was too rare. He stated the chef thought he may have pulled it off a little early. Glad they let us determine that once again. The third time we asked for a box bc our 11month old was ready for bed. Boxed steak is amazing for a $300 plus dinner by the way:) to end this rant, the owner did come over and redeem himself at least. Comped the 1 steak and had a great conversation that I actually did appreciate. The mgr “Chris” does need to dine at Anthony’s in Carmel and take notes on managing. Charge top dollar, deliver top notch service and food. Not a hard concept. I also don’t write many bad reviews but this was quite upsetting seeing my wife’s birthday turn into a low grade Outback...
Read moreMy husband and I went here to celebrate Valentine's Day. This was our first visit to this local gem and after our experience, it won't be our last!
The vibe in the bar area was chill and relaxing. The music playing was not overwhelmingly loud and was kept at a nice level of background noise. Overall, the place was calming to us and not stuffy or pretentious.
The service was absolutely outstanding! Our waitresses were very attentive and friendly. They offered their honest suggestions when asked about sides dishes and cocktails (not the canned "EVERYTHING is the BEST EVER" reply). The manager stopped by once during the evening to make sure everything was to our liking, which was nice.
The food was delicious and the pacing of dinner was perfect. Starting off, they brought us our drinks and some nice warm bread and butter. Then we had their Soup of the Day, which was a lovely loaded potato soup (made with real cream) and it was wonderfully flavorful. Next, my husband and I both had a salad (his Caesar and mine a Wedge), and they were crisp, fresh lettuces with just enough dressing. For our main course we split a filet, which was well flavored, had no fat/grissel on it and we could cut it with a fork. It just melted in our mouthes. Our selected side was steamed broccolini that was cooked just right (not over done, not under done) and had a slightly sweet flavor. For dessert, we shared the triple layered chocolate mousse cake and it was wonderful. Light and the perfect finish for a wonderful dinner.
Prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of everything they served. We plan to return very soon to enjoy another delicious and...
