Tacos & Tarros — Restaurant in Nogales

Spotted this place & the menu looked pretty good. When we first walked in we were not certain if we should seat ourselves or wait. Someone greeted us & said sit wherever we want. (A sign would be helpful).

My husband & I decided to order the Tabla Espanola. Took a long time to get our drinks, it would help if you guys wrote your orders down. Our son’s wings came out first. At that point it had been about 15 min. Normally as a family we wait until everyone has their meal so we can eat together. My daughter’s burrito came out 15 min later and my husband & I finally received ours another 15 min after that. Others that eat there locally shared with us this is not usually their experience.

Waiting 45 min for food is insane. Especially when at that point both our kids were done eating. At the very least offer to bring the Queso Fundido out that’s part of the tabla espanola if you are super busy. We saw others that came in after us that ordered similar food & were served 15-30 min ahead of us. We even wondered if it had something to do with us being from out of town or if they had simply forgotten to cook our meal. As soon as my son’s plate came out, I got the impression we had been overlooked, perhaps the kitchen thinking they had filled the ticket. PLEASE do not serve people this way! It’s just impolite to make others at a table wait that long, forced to choose between eating or letting their food get cold.

I’d have appreciated a small discount on the bill or the offer of a dessert, something 🤦‍♀️. As a former waitress, that’s what I’d have done. I’d like to also point out that we left a full tip despite the poor service.

When we finally received our food our entree plates were BOTH missing big pieces on them. At that point my husband took the one with the bigger chip & pointed out he would rather eat than wait for a plate.

Giving 3 stars because it’s clean, and the bathrooms were very nice. The food was better than ok, but not worth the wait.

We left to seek dessert elsewhere. Best of luck. We are headed back down this way tomorrow & a few more times in near future future but will not plan on eating here again.

Great food and a nice atmosphere, but we were very disappointed with the portion size of the parrillada for four. We specifically asked the waiter if it would be enough to feed our group, and he confirmed it would, so we went ahead and ordered it. However, when it arrived, the portion was surprisingly small—enough to comfortably feed two people, but definitely not four.

At $72, it felt far from worth it. We double-checked with the waiter to confirm it was indeed the parrillada for four, and he assured us it was. We ended up rationing the food very carefully, and unfortunately, those were some of the saddest fajita tacos we've ever had. The order came with just four tiny tortillas, and adding four more cost an extra $2.

We've eaten here before and had a great experience, but this time was a letdown. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, we noticed another table being served the same dish—only theirs was stacked and generously portioned, as it should have been. That inconsistency really made us question the kitchen's decision-making when it comes to fair portions.

I was excited, i was excited for a new place opening in my small community of Nogales, Unfortunately it didnt turn out to be what I expected. Ive visted this place 4 times and nothing changed, first time I went It was horrible but I was like okay they just opened lets give them a chance, the food wasnt the best and service definitely wasnt the best either. Second time it was late, theres only a few people and just like the first time, they took like 40 min, but hey at least 20 min less than last time. Third time same thing. 4 time same. This truly makes me sad because theres not much to do here, this place has potential to grow because it has a great concept but it is missing KEY components to make this a place where people want to be. I hope you take this into consideration and make this restaurant a great restaurant.
