Hy-Vee Bakery — Restaurant in Norfolk

Getting groceries today at HyVee East, 3 young males were at the same register. 1 checker, 2 bagging. Poor customer service.....no one said 'hello'. No one even smiled. No small talk. Fine I guess. Maybe they all wanted to go home (it was around 5:00. My 95 yr old mother was behind me. She has shopped for groceries there since the store opened. Again, no greeting, no small talk, not even a smile. The cashier was scanning as quickly as possible, almost throwing the groceries across to the baggers. My mother finally told the cashier not to throw her bag of peaches as they would bruise. No 'I'm sorry.'....! Then her bag of canned cat food came up, "Do you know how many you have?" I told him he would have to scan each one as they were all different kinds and would have their own SKU. Well duh! Guess he didn't care about the inventory count. All 3 looked dumb founded when asked to put the cans back in OUR bag! As someone with 27 yrs experience in retail, including customer service, I would have wanted to know this. Perhaps the store needs more supervision of employees until each one has proven himself able to work successfully on his own..... Just...

Stopped in to get a fountain pop and the Dr Pepper was out of syrup.There was an employee standing there putting hot dog buns in packages.I walked to the sink to pour it out and she moved over ,as i did I said "the dr pepper is out" she was to busy looking at some pictures on I assume another employes phone to acknowledge me.If shes "special " I understand,she looked a bit slow.So I went over to the counter and the lady behind the register went back and fixed it.The lady looking at pictures told me "its not my area"I was kind of like wow,great customer service.So after the nice lady left the registrar to fix the issue for me the other one went and pushed the button to flush the machine.I told her "don't go out of your way now" Horrible...

Usually a great place with very friendly staff. Unfortunately today I went in to buy a snack and something to drink. There were 2 cashiers and I was waiting and next in line at one. After the cashier finished the transaction of the person on front of me, she just walked away into the back of the store without saying anything and didn't come back. A line had started at the second cashier because of it and I had to go to the back of that line and continue to wait. It was poor service today and I hope Skye is disciplined for...
