Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Norfolk

Subs and service are very good. But! During my visit yesterday, I ordered two subs for pickup. To help the charity drive, I rounded up my ticket to support the charity. So far, so good. But, I put down an additional $6.00 as a tip, and my server told me that she wasn't allowed to accept my tip because of the charity program.

That's a horrible thing for Jersey Mike to do to its hard-working, proficient employees. Many employees in that location may be students, single parents, or other people who depend on tips. To arbitrarily cut a servers income by denying them receiving tips is atrocious, and I'm betting, also illegal (see the recent Florida case). I will no longer order subs from Jersey Mike's until restitution is made to the affected employees, and such...

I usually don’t leave bad reviews because I understand food service can be a difficult profession and it’s also filled with teenagers. I had a horrible experience with what I would have expected not to be so. I came in to order and immediately the staff had looks as though I was bothering them. An Asian & black woman were there that day and of the two neither were thrilled by my presence. My subs were sloppily made and side bar conversations with profanity distracted them from what I requested. Something needs to be done about the staff and atmosphere here. We've ordered from here twice and paid for delivery. Both times food was missing. Both times we called and they wouldn't come back out so we had to figure out how to feed the person whose food didn't come. Both times the 'manager' said he would credit the missing food. Both times, there was no credit given onto my debit card. Both times the 'manager' also said he would give us 2 free coupons for a regular sub, but we had to come pick them up. Both times when we drove there, there was only one coupon waiting and the person behind the counter knew nothing.
