Met my friend here for studying and brunch. We studied for 3 hours (9a-12pm), each bought coffee and food, tipped. We went outside for a less than 5 minute break to check on our cars. Come back inside and our things were thrown in a box on the ground for us to pick up. Mind you, we did not do anything that would warrant us being treated like that as paying customers. I will never return nor recommend it. Feeling devastated and heartbroken at being treated like dirt. Shame on them- it’s a beautiful cafe with excellent food but unfortunately dehumanizing service. UPDATE: Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to write a response. We did post on our social medias but what others have messaged is on their own accord. For any emotional distress it may have caused you, I do apologize. Once again, had someone come up to us and asked us to leave, we would have happily done so. Had someone given us a respectful explanation, as you have done so, we would have...
Read moreSo I had the pleasure of trying Mea Culpa for the first time because there was a Yelp Book Club meeting here! Dude, first of all, don't drive by too fast or you'll miss it. I seriously thought it was someone's house and people were just parked in front of it because there was street parking. NOPE! It was a legit cafe right next to Toast (if you love Toast like I do, go stop by Mea Culpa ASAP). And whoa, their oatmeal was a bowl of yummy goodness that I wasn't expecting? Like, I don't think I can eat another kind of oatmeal anymore, to be honest. Who knew that having a sunny side up egg with chili powder and all the other goodies in the oatmeal would make it taste extremely amazing and fulfilling?! I had no clue! I'm glad I tried it. The iced tea was perfect. I love teas, and if a cafe doesn't have a good tea, it's rare that I'll go again unless I love the food there. So Mea Culpa was two for two. It really is an amazing place. Go check it out like...
Read moreThis little cafe has created a sense of the slower pace of a small town. You feel yourself exhale deeply, settling into your seat on the porch, exulting in the breeze and the greenery caressing the railing. Downtown seems a world away. We found the setting to be beautifully clean. The indoor space is bright, fresh, impeccably clean, nicely decorated in an opened, uncluttered way. The tile wall is the star of the show. Expect to wait a bit for your food. It’s made to order and worth it. Order some coffee and enjoy your moments. My guests were thrilled with their waffles. Not a crumb was left of neither the goat cheese nor the lemon curd. I tested the highly recommended kale and chickpea salad. The kale was ultra fresh and not too bitter. This savory combination of ingredients and blend of textures is definitely one to try. I’ll...
