Wow! Just amazing atmosphere, clean, and beautiful. The Service was Top Notch from the Amazing Deja served the most wonderful food and the BarTender was just as amazing and even delivered the next drink with a smile! It was a nice and hot day, and the inside was cool and perfect for cooling off. Deja kept smiling everywhere and could tell Deja was happy to be here and laughing and working diligently with co workers. The Lemon Drop was delicious and had a nice punch of alcohol and sweetness. It was well worth the price. The steak was requested well done and was very tender and juicy. The whole vibe here is awesome and I’m definitely planning a few more trips in the next week, but I will definitely bring friends. This location really brings pizazz to Norfolk and the community. The atmosphere is positive and calming, now I did try to go across the street to eat at the Thai place, but was not welcomed and waited so long, I decided to turn around, reluctant to try Juicy Crab, because I am allergic to seafood, but there is sufficient menu items for me to try. Deja is positive and very knowledgeable about the menu. What impressed me most? She gave credit to the Chef, that shows me that she respects her customers as well as her staff and management, it’s my recommendation that Deja receives credit as well with a nice promotion and certainly a raise. This is not a typical service compliment. I’ve had a tough year, and this one meeting made me feel on top of the world. Every bite was delicious. It’s giving me international vibes, not just Asian and Seafood, but A WHOLE LOTTA SOUL! A must try over and over again....
Read moreWe came to visit my daughter this weekend and we let my son pick out a place for dinner on the way back from our day out. He picked this place. The Asian gentleman that greeted us and showed us where to sit was great. Our server Malia on the other hand was far from decent. We sat and ordered, and the food came out quickly. Which speaks to the restaurant being a good spot. But for the four of us we were only given two plastic forks. And when I asked about it our server said, is that not enough? No, there’s four people. Even if we don’t use them, everyone should have something there to eat with. My son got crab legs and she gave him no fork or shell cracker. I had to go to the bar and ask the Asian gentleman for a shell cracker and more forks, which he gladly gave us with an apology for the service. Our server didn’t check on us, even when we sat our empty glasses at the end of the table as she attended to the tables around us, looking over at us occasionally. I finally had to take our glasses to the bar to ask someone for a refill. Then she pops up out of nowhere saying she would get them. I imagine she didn’t want anyone to hear about how poor her service was. We couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable because of how she spoke to us and how she treated us versus the other customers. Sad to see this in an area we enjoy being in, and while the food was good, the service was far from decent. That being said, with so many other options in the area, and because of the extremely poor service, we will not be...
Read moreI was very excited to see a seafood boil place in the Ghent area. The only other place that I know of is Mr. Boil and it's about a 30 min drive away. We made reservations but didn't need them. The place was nice and clean throughout. We ordered the clam strips, boom boom shrimp, create your own boil with shrimp head off and crawfish, and some fries.
The bad: Shrimp were over cooked Clam strips were heavily breaded so the breading was all we tasted
The okay: No sausage with the boil, could get for extra $ Crawfish were bland and had to be dipped in the sauce Barely any sauce on the boom boom shrimp so it was just fried shrimp with a very light drizzle of sauce.
The good: Service was great Food was hot Fries were great
Overall it isn't bad but it could use a few changes in my opinion. I was disappointed that the shrimp were over cooked and hard. Crawfish were on the bland side compared to other boil places I have been. I wish they could find a way to infuse the sauce within the crawfish. Finally it was a soft opening. I was very surprised that we were not greeted by a manager at any point during our meal. There were only three tables occupied the whole time we were there. I would try it again when they...
