My friends and I wanted to meet up and get ice cream in the Granby area and we found this spot. We couldn't believe that we were going to get rolled ice cream lol. We only saw places like this on Facebook, you know like in big cities like NYC!
We came in and was greeted by Mike and Catherine. They noticed it was our first time and they started to explain how the process works. You can pick from getting a drink, crepes, or ice cream. Prices ranges for all of them. It was cool that we could either get something that was put together and named something cool. I ended up making my own ice cream with. . unlimited stuff: Chocolate base oero cake batter cheesecake
look, I wanted to add more but I just. . didn't want to over do it. It's cool that it's the same cost regardless of how many items you wanted to add inside of your ice cream. Jerome blessed my ice cream. It was really a cool experience watching him mix everything together. I also thought it was cool that I can add toppings and/or drizzle to customize it. I ended up add more .. Nutella. Sue me, but it was good.
My friends and I were confused how we were about to eat it lol. Jerome explained to us that we can either use a spoon of course or be fancy and pick up the rolls by chop sticks! We stuck to the regular way, a spoon. I ended up realizing that it was easier to eat the ice cream as it melted.
As of chairs and such, my friends and I sat at the top. We acted as if it was VIP of the whole place. They also had chairs and tables near the area where you would order which was cool.
The amount was $7.84 but I also added a tip so it was $9 something. It was a bit much than I am used to however, you are paying for...
Read moreI waited some days to post this, because saying things when you’re upset is not always the best route to take. Maybe the owner is going through rough times or something because this business has fallen off.
My friend and I walked in and immediately felt uncomfortable. No one greeted us. We were confused about where to order. They clearly saw that we were confused and said nothing. Anyway, at the register we didn’t get a hello or anything. I spoke and asked how she was doing only to be met with a dry “good.” Lol
The girl just pointed to the menus on the counter. You could barely hear her talk when I asked questions, but I’m empathetic enough to consider that maybe she was shy and maybe had a little social anxiety. There were two older women standing behind her and when I spoke to them, no type of acknowledgment. Rolled ice-cream is about the experience. The older woman grabbed my cup and didn’t say one word to me. I almost felt like I was bothering her for watching her make it!
The WORST PART of this entire visit was when the lady finished making my ice-cream. She handed it to me and I said “thank you so much.” She looked at me and said absolutely nothing. Thinking she didn’t hear me, I made eye contact and said “thank you so much.” Guys, she said NOTHING and looked me dead in my eyes lol
The ice-cream tasted like something was spoiled. I mean it wasn’t good at all. My friend noticed the same spoiled and tart taste to theirs as well. Terrible. It was so hot and muggy in there too.
I hope the owner responds to this or at least make some changes. Customer service costs NOTHING. Spending money at a place that treated us that way felt so wrong. I will...
Read moreI recently visited here with some of my friends. We were walking around downtown Norfolk, and decided to give this place a try. The decor was like the name suggested: "urban." It had a lot of bright colors, and was overall pretty nice. My friends little sister really liked being able to draw on the glass in the kid's area. We were in a line of about 4-6 really indecisive people, and eventually got to order mango bubble tea(they were unfortunatley out of taro and lychee) and cookies and cream rolled ice cream to share. The staff was polite, but nothing special. One thing I didn't like was the price. It was pretty high for what we got. It took a while, since all the people before us got rolled ice cream and there was only one person making the ice cream. After a 25 minute wait, they finally began to make our ice cream. It was really cool to watch, and the staff wrote a nice message in the ice cream as they were making it. When we got out mango bubble tea and the ice cream, we sat down at a table to eat and talk. The rolled ice cream was good, but I did not like the bubble tea. It was warm, way to sugary, and the mango tasted bad. The staff never asked us if we wanted to adjust our sugar level, so I assume that's the only way they make it. The tapioca pearls weren't very good either. If you want bubble tea, there are way better places to get it. (I recommend Kung Fu Tea and Tapioca Go) I would recommend going for the rolled ice cream, but only if it's a special occasion or you're willing to pay the high price. Watching them make the ice cream was cool and it's something you should see if you have never...
