Panda Express — Restaurant in Normal

Honestly, pathetic. This was literally the worst Panda Express I have ever visited. Our group of seven (including children) arrived well over 30min before closing time. Most of the food was gone and all that remained looked extremely unappetizing. Several of the options we wanted were gone. The staff was utterly unhelpful and quite rude to us. We asked nicely several times, in several ways if they could work with us (it doesn't take long to make another batch of most menu items). We were willing to be flexible, but they were not. They didn't even bother to extend an apology! We left, of course, but it is important to highlight the fact that the couple behind us AND the couple in front of us were equally frustrated by the same issue and decided to leave as well (you will notice plenty of other 1-star reviews for this location too).

We went to Hot Wok Express instead and received far superior service. They were kind, patient, welcoming, and understanding. I recommend you go there also.

I've worked in this industry. I know the frustrations of trying to serve grumpy people 5min before closing time. This was not that situation, I assure you. If an establishment can't treat their costumers well and help them have a good experience (even by offering a simple, sincere apology), it doesn't deserve to continue...

I wish I could give a good review. The only thing good was the fact our food was remade and a refund.

To start off, we ordered food at 449p. My wife went down there and got there 5 minutes after the pickup time. Food wasn't there. Wasn't on the table she was told, where the pickup food should be for online ordering. I called to ask what was going on, someone at the store told me the food was there on the table. So my wife asked for help to see if it was on the table. A worker looked and told her no. This was 30 minutes after the pickup time. I called again to the store. Asked what was going on, if they see my wife. Was told yes. Process repeated.

Then I asked for the food to remade and a partial refund because at this point it was 615p. Told my wife to come get me and I would get it sorted out. Got down there and they didn't have an item on her order. But they remade it the test of he order with a substitute.

I wish I could say good things about this location but I can't because I also do doordash. And I had 4 deliveries I had to unassign for Panda Express because the wait time was very similar, over an hour. People calling and mad at me. So this isn't a once off deal.

The only good thing is they refunded us and remade the food. That's it. I refuse to order from this...

The customer service was ok: the girl (I didnt get her name) was nice and quick to get my food. The rest of the staff was on their phones and/or goofing around. The cleanliness was beyond horrible. Food all over the floor like they havent swept since they closed the night prior. The tables were sticky with leftover food all over them. The food that I ordered (fried rice, Beijing Beef, Beef and Broccoli, and an egg roll) tasted like it was reheated in a microwave and was very bland. Im not sure how one messes up an egg roll, but kudos to these people, they achieved it. I dont normally throw away food that I just bought, but that was just god awful; the worst I have have in at least 5 years. It really upset my stomach. My roommate had ordered something similar and his stomach was really upset too. I do NOT recommend eating here...go somewhere else that has better food...which would be pretty much anywhere. I dont eat fast food, but I would have rather eaten at Wendys or McDonald's. If I could give a zero star...
