Where do I start with Best Buy!! We ordered a TV online on 1st September for delivery on the 11th. The day before delivery date, a driver called to say delivery time will be between 9 and 11am. Delivery day.... no TV by noon and not one call to update us on delivery time so my wife contacted customer service to check on delivery status. We were informed that our TV wasnât loaded onto the vehicle and wonât be delivered on that day, and the TV wouldnât be in the store till Sunday 15th. We were told the TV wouldnât be delivered until the 17th or we could collect it on the 15th, so we chose pickup on the 15th. On the 13th, we were told that the order was cancelled due to no availability in our local store, but we could reorder at the price we paid. However, we were told the TV would not be delivered until September 24th. When we checked our bank account that day, they charged us the wrong price, so my wife had to get it cancelled and reordered at the original price we paid. So it was one last chance for them to deliver or a refund was expected. The day of the delivery the TV arrives, finally we have our TV after over 3 weeks!! But wait, we get a USED one that was sold to us as new one that we paid for. The TV came with 2 plugs, the remote had no packaging and the TV box wasnât taped up like the manufacture would, plus the box had previous delivery stickers on. We still set up the TV, attaching the un packaged feet and deciding which of the two plugs looked less bent. When we turned the TV on to check if it was usable, it had a line all the way across and a red dot on the screen! Fair to say we were pretty angry. My wife called immediately and it took an hour and a half to get ahold of them and a refund sorted. They didnât even offer to fix their extremely horrible service to try to improve our experience. The only positive was the kind and caring delivery driver. The next day we went elsewhere to buy a BRAND NEW TV and it was perfectly packaged and works perfectly. So my advice would be..........
DO NOT USE BEST BUY!!! Or should I...
Read moreI hate leaving a bad review but I can not let this slide under the rug tonight. My husband and I love Best Buy and it really sickened me by the total lack of respect that we recieved this evening! I dont ever remember being treated so poorly in my entire life, to the point where it was almost humiliating! We had come to exchange a laptop that we bought under false advertising, which Best Buy later rectified it shortly after they realized their mistake. Anyhow we just got off of work, as we are both truck drivers and were not our Sunday best dressed but looked like we just got off of work. Immediately we were directed over to the laptops to find a replacement right away and get out. We were still curious about a few choices and very quickly were we put right in our place by this kid telling us that these computers were out of our price league, Excuse me, and when did you become our financial advisor? As we are far from his economic value! But I brushed it off and continued browsing when it happened again. So I merely grabbed an $800 PC, not knowing a thing about it. Just to get out of there and not have him try and shame us out anymore than he already had, and he must be thankful that I was too tired to open my mouth tonight. But I will be damned if he will be able to make someone else feel that small. Where did kids lose their manners and respect for adults. These millenials need a good swift kick to remind them who brought them into this world. Sorry to rant but this was absolutely uncalled for and someone has to finally speak up instead of being PC! Otherwise, I hope this was a 1 time event. Besides Mr know it all, the store was very nice, with e everything that you could ever want to have in a state of the art home like ours!...
Read moreI brought my desktop PC into Best Buy for diagnostic service after replacing a known-faulty motherboard that had stopped POSTing. The original board was unstable, but it still POSTed and worked with my GPU, RAM, and storage. I brought both the new board (which wasnât showing video) and the original board with me so Geek Squad could use either during diagnostics.
I paid up front for the diagnostic and clearly requested proper component isolation and bench testing to determine if any of my hardware had failed. Instead, they simply inserted known-good parts into the system to see if it would boot â but never tested my components in a known-working environment. Based on that limited approach, they told me my GPU, RAM, and storage were all bad. Thatâs not how professional diagnostics are done.
When I picked up the system, I asked if they had tested any of my components outside the case or in a known-good setup â the tech admitted they hadnât. I asked for them to retest the hardware properly or issue a refund, and both were declined, even though the core service I paid for was never completed as described.
Later, I reinstalled Windows myself using the same GPU, RAM, and storage they claimed were faulty â and everything worked flawlessly. I also followed up with Geek Squad support (call ID: 357182647), and while the rep sympathized and agreed my frustration was valid, they told me no refund was possible due to the transaction being in-store.
Bottom line: I paid for a diagnostic I didnât receive and was misled into thinking a full evaluation had been performed. If you have any technical background or expect real troubleshooting, I'd...
