Amy Cakes — Restaurant in Norman

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The owner, Amy delivered my daughter's wedding cake 2 hours late, after guests were entering. Set up the cake and left her fingerprint in the cake breaking the lettered icing on the front of the cake. It was quite obvious. Amy didn't have the common courtesy to speak to me or my daughter in person, or even call me. She LEFT not saying a word. I immediately called their phone number and as always it went to the answering machine. She did not call me back until almost a week later. When she did call me back she had every excuse under the sun to justify her horrific customer service and then had the audacity to offer me a $50.00 refund off this very expensive cake. This was AFTER I had to ask for compensation for the damaged cake and undue stress she added to the day. Amy needs to trash the answering machine and take a class on what customer service is and how to provide it. The amount Amy settled on will never make up for the horrendous customer service she provided. My experience with Amy Cakes was wonderful from start to finish! Not only do her cakes look amazing, they TASTE amazing. Wedding cakes often get a bad rep for tasting bland or dry, but that is the complete opposite of what I got with Amy. First we had a cake tasting, which went very well. She devote her time to us, not distracted by anything. You could see the passion she has for cake decorating. She helped us develop a great idea. The pricing was reasonable considering her popularity and the fact it was a wedding cake. As for the execution, it couldn't have been better! She did such a great job. The cake exuded the elegance and the fun we wanted in our cake, and of course it was delicious. It got high praise by our guests! My best advice is if Amy Cakes is available and in your price range, book as soon as possible! We had a very positive experience working with Amy and Olive. They were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, flexible, and lived up to every expectation that we had. Any time we had a question, it was very easy to get ahold of them...no surprises, just delicious cake! I'd have to say, of all of our vendors, we were most confident and at ease after booking Amy Cake's. Originally, my husband was very skeptical as to why we would want to budget a good chunk for a wedding cake, but after sitting down with Amy, tasting cakes, and brainstorming designs, he was very happy with the outcome and continues to tell people how happy he was with our cake.
