We went to Koto to celebrate my daughters 11th birthday. The food and the "show"were both great. The server was awesome.. until she brought the check. I was the only adult that was there with 7 children. I intentionally made reservations for 5:00pm so we would be out of there before the Valentine date guests arrived. I was trying to be thoughtful of us taking up an entire table with children. I asked to have two of the children split an adult meal because they wanted steak and shrimp. This added a cost of 6.95 to the meal, which I completely understood. Then one child asked for an adult meal specifically, which was also fine.. I ordered an adult meal as well. The remaining children ordered off of the child's menu. When the waitress brought me the check she charged me for all adult meals except one. I pointed out to her that this was incorrect and that I should only have been charged for three adult meals and the rest were children meals and she refused to fix the check. It was OBVIOUS that I was there with children under 12. She did not apologize and had already added a 15% gratuity. I did not add any additional tip (which I would have happily had done had she corrected the check). I was disappointed in her lack of urgency in fixing the check and will not be returning to a restaurant that over charges for meals. The amount of food that the children received that ordered adult meals and the one that got the child's meal was the same. This is a sad way to...

My family went in at 6:30 on a Saturday night and we were seated right away. Service was polite and prompt, orders were taken right away. The soup was oily with little flavor. The salad consisted of a few bits of lettuce and a small spoonful of what is supposed to be a ginger dressing. The soup was better. Then we waited for a good twenty minutes after finishing with those for our hibachi chef to appear. They use rice instead of shrimp to toss for you to catch in your mouth. I got scallops, shrimp, and lobster. When I tell you this man committed a CRIME preparing this seafood - the lobster was crispy on the outside and bone dry and chewy inside. The shrimp couldn't be cut with the side of a fork! Miraculously the scallops were cooked perfectly. They have hands down the oiliest food, meats, veggies, and rice I've ever had at hibachi. And they serve noodles, which you'd assume would be an Asian type but no, it's angel hair. My husband got strip steak and it was obviously a very cheap cut of meat, also overcooked. This place is trying to save a buck everywhere and it shows in...

I had the worst experience at this restaurant first time coming. Me and my family came in around normal dinner time got sat down at a Hibachi table with another family after sitting us down and taking our drink orders as soon as they bring us our drinks they ask us to order our food bc the family they sat us with had already ordered. Obviously we weren't ready on what we wanted to order so we told her we needed more time 3 min goes by and she comes back asking us to order our food bc the family is waiting we could not enjoy appetizer or our drinks we had ordered and rushed to order our entrees 2 min later the cook comes out with our food he wasn't very interactive and when my daughter tried to talk to him he did not reply the waitress also messed up my child's order and gave us steamed rice instead of fried they then fixed the problem and then charged us 4 dollars for the side of rice immediately 5 min after the cook finished our food she brought us boxes and our check. Worst hibachi I...

Koto is a favorite hibachi restaurant for our family, and it has been for many years. Our kids now ask to go to Koto for their birthday. We love the cooking acrobatics, and the fire, and more fire… the food is exquisite (try that yum yum sauce with your chicken, steak or shrimp). Our family’s favorite is the fried rice, always so full of flavors. For those on a budget, it is worth splitting a meal as there is often plenty of food for 2. Definitely split a meal if you have kids. Note that the cocktails are very affordable ($7.50). Highly recommended in Norman. Make sure you reserve before going, Koto is very popular and the wait line can be long, especially in the weekends.

Wife and I came here for our first time as we usually have our place to go to. To us the reviews are being gracious because this isn’t nowhere near 3star caliber tasting food. The service and staff is friendly and attentive but that’s the only plus. We didn’t like the ginger on the salad, just didn’t have that pop of flavor we are used to. The hibachi wasn’t good at all, no flavor to the vegetables, and steak was very bland and tough. The chicken was tender and had some flavor and the noodles were nice surprise but overall this wasn’t hitting our palate as other hibachi restaurants do. I understand each individual has different taste but for us, it’s a hard no.

Our new favorite chef is Quawn! He does all the tricks and the food was delicious. His fried rice was spot on. Also, taught us how to do sake bombs! So fun!! He also, makes a fire to take a group photo. He goes above and beyond. Very funny man. Joked that he had been doing tricks for white people for over 20 years. 😂 Our waitress was super nice and sweet, but she needed to be more attentive. Our chef kept telling her we needed drinks. We love this place over all. Been coming here for two decades. Make sure to make a reservation so you are NOT waiting forever. Super important since OU classes started again.
