I want to update this review. The owner called me and he REALLY understood how upset I was, he made it right. And most importantly I believe him as he said he will address it with the team there. So all is good now.
I messaged Dickies website with a customer complaint. Yesterday I ordered three plates and drinks. My son picked them up. They didn't give us a whole bag of our sides and barbecue sauce and utensils. We live miles away from the restaurant.
So my son went back and was ignored at the front counter. He spoke up and an employee said So you should have had two bags and just handed it to him without a smile or an apology or anything. My son said I drove about an hour back and forth could I get maybe a pound of meat to make up for the trouble? He was told I'll have to ask someone. And then no communication was made for about 12 to 14 minutes. Finally son said something else and the first employee whispered into the guy in charge. He cut three ribs put them in a tray and slid them across the counter. They wound up having an argument.
So then the second bag was brought home + we were still missing a side. We didn't call we didn't go back or anything. Our three meat trays were very disappointing. Ripped off.
What's sad is at one time the food wasn't a very good here. And occasionally I would try it out. And it has gotten better. So we were increasing our visits. The things that happened there yesterday were appallingly poor customer service. My son understands it in his retail business, I have a lifetime of store management in retail of over 35 years. There is no room for that kind of treatment of a customer. Absolutely unacceptable.
And Dickies if you see this. I put my comments yesterday on your portal. And all I got back was a thank you for posting this and we are sorry and we'll use it to try and be better in the future. On there I wanted somebody to call me I provided my phone...
Read moreWell.. this isn't the review I was expecting to write . . Back in 1967 , Plano Texas on 14th street, there was a brand new Dickey's open up ! Every week my nannie, papaw and my 2 brothers would load up (usually on Friday) and head to Dickey's on 14th ! It was a treat for us! Me and my 2 brothers loved Dickey's, even if we didn't always get to go to the restaurant, it still got picked up and brought home. Through the years , especially the one on 14th Street in Plano handled a lot of catering from my family even when we moved a town over . It's been a while since I've ate Dickey's .. like years . Imagine my surprise when I ordered the loaded baked potato w/butter, shredded cheese, green onions and sour cream(light) ... I added Xtra green onions and shredded cheese and bacon (paid extra for all those too). So I received a cold dried up potato light cheese and onion, no butter, and no bacon !!! And completely smothered in sour cream!! Just nasty looking. I've added pictures of it. Dickey's is not what it used to be and that's so sad . I miss the Dickey's on 14th street back in my stomping grounds. I don't believe I will be back to Dickey's,, at least not this one for sure. ..... And to top it off, I called the restaurant and talked to some little twerp and while I was trying to discuss it calmly (I swear) . . He hung up on me !! Gotta say, Uber Eats delivery was on top of it through order to delivery. He was quick! He got a good tip . Wasn't his fault y'all gave him a cold dried up potato !! Do better.
And YES I did eat it !! I was hungry. Funds and food...
Read moreThis was our first time ordering from there and it'll be our last as well. Food on the menu looked great, we were super excited as we picked our our dinners. When the food was delivered and we opened the bag we were shocked at how little food there was in the bag considering the steep price. The menu showed pictures of these glorious meals and what we actually got was nothing more than a $40 appetizer. The sides came in a laughably small container, literally two spoonfuls of a side of mac and cheese and potato salad. Then the pulled pork sandwich which looked wonderful and grand on the menu arrived as a small slider with about 9 waffle fries throw in the bag next to it. The pork was dry, so dry and it was actually comical the amount of even barbecue they included with the meal. If you are looking for something light from a barbecue place, this place would be great. Maybe an appetizer before you go to another...
