Louie's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Norman

A few days ago my friend and I were at this location. We went there to play pool and relax. My friend, who is 27 y/o, was targeted by the blond female bartender accusing my friend of being a problem and had the manager Zack ID check him. The bartender refused to serve my friend. What she failed to realize is I overheard her conversation. The gist of her statement was racially motivated. When my friend told me she refused to serve him I went to the bar and asked why. I was informed by the manager that the bartender had informed him that my friend has be kicked out in the past (this is a lie) and that they had the right to refuse service. When I asked about the previous incident in question they could not tell me and started accusing me of arguing with them. (At no time did I raise my voice or become confrontational) they then stated that we would need to leave. I requested to be able to finish our game of pool before we left and were allowed to finish. This was the worst case of racism I have faced since I was a child. I found this disgusting, inappropriate and unprofessional. This is a good place to get some decent American bar and grill food at a decent price. They have a nice menu for burgers, pizza, sandwiches, salads, etc. and a full bar. This particular Campus Corner location is geared more towards college patrons (obviously) with a layout that has more seating around the bar and is a little smaller than some other locations. There's at least one TV in view from every seat. The staff was friendly and it's a fun environment. Our family went on a Wednesday and it was only about half full. There were other tables with kids and on Wednesdays kids eat free with adult entree purchases, but you HAVE to mention it to your server to get the deal. The food was prompt, as ordered, and tasty. 2 burger meals and 2 kids meals cost us just over $20 before tip. Great deal in a fun...

The OG of the Louie's franchise this historic campus corner flagship continues to innovate. I went to a beer tasting at L3 and the bartender Ian did a great job educating us on the latest in local craft beer at an excellent price. If you are looking for value there are always specials. Most of the time Im greeted by name and offered an assortment of amazing food and drink combos that I didn't know about. Don't be afraid to ask "what's the cheapest beer you got?" because many times it's really good deal. Ashley, Alex, Joe, Kyle,Taryn, Ian, Berto and the rest of the staff always make you feel at home no matter how long you've been away.
