The Corner Grill — Restaurant in North Arlington

I was really looking forward to trying this place, which from the reviews sounded like a place we'd gone to for years until the owners retired. I planned on ordering the Cuban sandwich when we arrived around 9:30 on Sun. morning. The big sign in the entryway listed chicken and waffles,and the Cuban among other things, so I ordered the Cuban.. server asked if I wanted fries, and then we waited a bit, when she finally came back and said "sorry its not available"(I did not ask why the sign showed it) but then ordered huevos ranchero. For $7.75 you get LOTS of beans burying, 2 eggs and 2 small corn tortilla with 2 slivers of avacado. My son got a very average omelette with 2 small pieces of rye toast, no butter anywhere. (by the way if you go to Fischers cafe, huevo ranchero includes 2 pieces of quality chorizo and homemade pico di gallo. Coffee was $2 with NO REFILLS OFFERED- are you kidding? Waited and waited to pay to get out of there then finally went to the register, gave our table number, paid with no "thank you, have a nice day" to break the silence....just feel like no one here cares. They have just 3 parking spaces on a block with lots of yellow curbs, which would have been ok if the food was great OR the service was great this place had neither. I look forward to a nice breakfast on the weekend after working all week serving the public in my job, I really left this place feeling that if I gave that quality of caring at MY job, I would be fired. Uber drivers! BE AWARE. This restaurant WILL ASK YOU FOR YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND SIGNATURE BEFORE PICKING UP FOOD . And if you don’t do what they say they go ahead and report you on the Uber app for unprofessional behavior. For the very clueless owners and staff that have this business. In the US OF AMERICA one is not to identify him”herself not even to a police officer unless suspected of doing a crime. So I don’t care what stupid made up policy they wanna enforce, but their policy doesn’t overwrite my rights. The two women at the counter got offended when I told them and SHOWED THEM that I had already gone ahead and confirmed the order. So just because I didn’t wanna provide with my personal information and signature (for a bill that is not mine). They get to report and make it seem like the delivery person is “unprofessional”. So I ask you this. If they had also asked me for my social security number I had to provide it otherwise I also get reported ? AND ALSO THEY REQUEST THIS PERSONAL INFO FROM EVERY PERSON PICKING UP FOOD. Needless to say a police report will be filled today and legal action will be taken. I keep torturing myself going back here thinking itll get better but today finalized its destiny- never stepping foot in here again. Only 2 Customers besides my wife and myself. Ordered breakfast and as usual, tired of not being able to get simple service. Waitreses look rite at you while holding empty coffee cup , one even bypassed my table with fresh hot pot in hand but walked rite by me no refills. Asked me if I want another when it was time to pay. Only got half way through meal cause nothing to wash down and enjoy. Waitresses talk among each other or their on there phones ignoring you which is most of the time.
