UPDATE: I ate at Kozy Kitchen yesterday, and I wanted to update my review. I met up with a young couple and their two children, ages 2 and 11. We ordered a variety of items, and everyone cleaned their plates except for me. The food was delicious, but my appetite is no match for the huge servings they offer. Mine was a simple bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich, but it was huge and absolutely delicious. There was so much bacon on it, that the slices were hanging out a good 2 inches from both sides of the bread. And the side order of fries was massive ! The staff were wonderfully solicitous and engaging. At one point, when both of the children had tried and failed at the toy pick up machine, the owner brought a selection of small squishy toys to the table and let each of them choose one to keep. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and never seem to want to rush us despite there being quite a crowd at lunch time. We spent two of the most delightful hours together, and are very much looking forward to our next meet-up there. The food has always been good and the staff very helpful and kind, but yesterday they really outdid themselves! I highly recommend this amazing local gem of a restaurant!
I love everything about Kozy Kitchen, from the friendly laid-back staff to the delicious food. My favorite meals are their breakfasts and their wonderful liver and onion dinner. I know a lot of people do not like liver. And, even for those of us who love it, finding a place that does a good job cooking it is rare. This place does...
Read moreThey are, currently, open for eat in or takeout. My family ate mostly breakfast here this morning and the food is just as good as before the shutdown. I had the Spanish omelet, very tasty (if you have trouble with spicy things like I do, ask for the salsa on the side), my wife had a short stack (they serve 1, 2 or 4 large pancakes and call them single, short stack or full stack) with cinnamon apples and whipped cream. Our 16 y.o. had their cinnamon roll pancakes and our 9 y.o. had a mini cheeseburger and fries off the kids menu. We all enjoyed the food and even brought some home for later.
The only bad thing I can say about this restaurant, and I will admit upfront there is not anything they can do to fix it (besides moving locations), is the parking lot. There is only one handicapped spot to park and the parking lot is sloped which makes it hard to get to the sidewalk in front of the building.
However; I think the food is definitely worth the trouble of getting into this restaurant. I have taken my family here many times and have never been disappointed by the staff or the food. I highly recommend you give them a try, be patient with them as they are having a hard time getting employees who want to work.
Stay safe and healthy...
Read moreStopped here for lunch Dunday 8/27/23 with my husband and father in law. After we sat down, the gentleman who brought us out menus was funny and nice about our drink order and brought them out to us rather quickly. We saw our server all of two times. She first came over to ask if we were ready to order or needed a few minutes and we asked for a few more minutes. Twenty minutes later, she still hasn't come back over, is wandering around checking in others, but avoiding us. My husband went up to the counter and placed our order there since it was clear she wasn't coming back. The next and final time we saw our server, she was bringing our order out. As far as food goes, I don't recommend it. I ordered the dinner salad which was just a small bowl of iceberg lettuce, a few croutons, and two slices of tomato with dressing on the side. The thousand island was so watered down that all I tasted was water with some croutons here and there. Both my father in law and husband ordered the chicken strip basket. Menu shows 3 strips and fries. They each received two very burnt strips and bland, overcooked fries. Suffice to say we didn't finish our food. We paid our ticket and went...
