After my experience today at this store, it comes as no surprise that their overall rating is 2.0/5 stars from close to 100 reviews.
Went in today to get a couple of chicken bowls and as he filled the first one, it looked like the quantity of meat was lesser than it usually is at other chipotle locations, and the quantity in the second bowl was even less than the first. When I asked him to put more chicken, he argued it would be “double meat” and tried to “explain” to me saying “the meat has gotten to the side that’s why it looks less”.
Then when it came to the toppings, when I started with “I’ll have some pico”, he took that to mean barely a little more than a tablespoon, and I asked him to put more. Same with the corn - when I asked him to put more corn on the first one, I could see they almost were out of corn and barely a (table)spoonful left for the second bowl, and they apparently didn’t have more. But they didn’t seem to care nor was there any apology about it. How do you run out of toppings just after 7 pm on a Saturday evening?
At that point I had had enough, and said I didn’t want either of the bowls and walked out of the store, and drove 3 miles up to the Chipotle in the North Brunswick Shoppes (which was so much more better, and well stocked).
I had been to this store a couple of times when they were newly opened, and they did have a few kinks back then, but nothing more than what you’d associate with a new place, and certainly nowhere as bad as today.
And I, for sure, am not returning to this store, after my experience today and of other people based on the reviews here (which seem completely justified based on what I saw today). Do yourselves a favor and spend the extra 7-8 mins driving to the North Brunswick Shoppes location instead of wasting...
Read moreThis location is an absolute dumpster fire. The restaurant is always filthy and whenever you walk in the staff just stares at you while you wait on the growing line. No one takes the initiative to help the person make the food and it’s usually one person struggling to keep up. The same person usually makes your food and then rings you up while there’s five other people walking around the restaurant or on their phone. Every time you go in there they’re always out of something no matter what time it is, and it’s usually just because they don’t want to make it. I was told tonight that they’re not making any more chicken because they close soon. Please note that it was 8:30 and they don’t close until 11. The manager is very rude and less than helpful. They were also power washing the floor inside tonight, while there were customers in the restaurant. There was a half inch of standing water all over the restaurant. My shoes and socks got wet and they were spraying water all over everyone. This is the closest one to my house, but I would rather drive 20 minutes out of my way to avoid this horrible location. I would not send my worst enemy here. This location needs a major overhaul and some serious training. The employees here visibly could not care less about the customers or quality of their work. They just slap the food in the bowls making a mess and then move on. The prices keep going up and the quality/experience is going down. Please go to a different location if you want a good experience because this is certainly...
Read morevisited this location today (9/17/25) around 5:30pm with my wife, and it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at any Chipotle.
The first thing we noticed when walking in was how dirty the dining area was. Tables were messy, the floor wasn’t clean, and overall it looked like no one had bothered to maintain the restaurant.
While ordering, I personally witnessed a serious food safety issue. The associate behind the counter accidentally dropped steak inside the beans container. Instead of throwing it away, she fished it out and put the steak back into the steak container, which is clear cross-contamination. When I raised my concern, the manager on duty, Nick Perez, brushed it off and said there was nothing wrong with it. That is absolutely unacceptable from someone in charge.
To make things worse, when I asked for corporate contact information to report the issue, Nick Perez was extremely rude and refused to provide any. A general manager should be setting an example of professionalism and cleanliness, but instead he acted dismissive and unprofessional.
Between the filthy dining area, food safety violations, flies around the restaurant, and the complete lack of customer service, this location is beyond disappointing. I would strongly advise avoiding this Chipotle until corporate steps in to correct these...
