Twisted Citrus — Restaurant in North Canton

The food is amazing the waitresses are always so pleasant! HOWEVER, I am giving this place a two star because the hostesses pick and choose when they are going to decide to stop sitting customers!! The posted time on the door states that they close at 2pm, my husband and I were supposed to meet a friend there at 12:45 an hour and fifteen minutes prior to closing time. There was a waitlist of four other tables and there were four tables that needed to be cleared off. The hostess then asked the other hostess if she should add us to the list and she said well you decide, I mean we do close in a hour and fifteen minutes. Mind you I worked in the restaurant business myself for over 13 years, so when she came back and said their waitlist of mind you four tables exceeded their closing time, when four tables needed cleared, I asked when do they actually stop seating people then. The hostess could not answer me! She repeated herself and said the wait was too long. I then said when do you stop seating people then? She couldn’t answer me again. The other hostess proceeded to come to the table and got completely rude with me. I wasn’t trying to a Karen, but NEVER in 13 years was I EVER allowed to not serve someone or ask them to leave a restaurant an hour and 15 minutes prior to closing. IF we ever go back I will be asking to speak to someone who actually runs the place because it is beyond me that they choose when to stop seating people. I would like to add I had to wait for our friend to show up to drive somewhere else to eat and the guys who came in car covered in snow, so they clearly weren’t on the list, never came back out and clear got sat. I guess the point is if you want to eat there be sure to get there several hours prior to 2 pm or the two hostesses apparently are managers and run the show. I would have even posted this however this is the SECOND time that this has happened. If they the hostesses are so concerned about leaving at two perhaps they should work in another industry where leaving time is guaranteed. Also, the restaurant we went too after we were in and out by 2:15pm & we had to drive 15 minutes from twisted citrus. I would never intentionally make...

We attempted to come to eat on 10/8/2022. We arrived at 12:05 pm, and were told that there would be a 10 minute wait while they cleared tables/people finished. That’s fine - it happens, and it’s a Saturday morning. We gave our number and were told we’d receive a text, so we went to wait outside.

As we waited, three groups left the restaurant, and four groups of people parked and walked into the restaurant. One of them came out and took a seat across from us, the others didn’t come back out.

One of our party went inside to check, and they were told that it would be another ten minutes - despite the fact that two of the groups that walked in after us had already been seated.

We went back outside (at this point it’s 12:30) and two additional groups walked in and didn’t exit. A third group walked in, walked out and sat at a different outdoor table to wait.

A large group left the restaurant, we waited a few minutes and went in - and were told that it was going to be an additional fifteen minutes and then the hostess explained the process for seating customers and that we couldn’t sit at one of the open tables because they were waiting for a large group to come in - and ignored when we mentioned that others had been seated in our place.

We understand that sometimes there is a wait, or that larger groups take priority…. But at least five groups of people that arrived after us were seated BEFORE us with no explanation or apology.

We finally left at 12:50 without eating because there was absolutely no indication that we would ever get seated even though we gave them our information and checked in repeatedly. No one at the hostess stand remembered any of us when we went in to check on our...

My very classy, opulent, African american friend from out of town chose this place to meet me for breakfast today and discuss business. He likes trendy locations and good food. I'm vegetarian so the place worked for us. He requested seating for 2, told 30 min wait. A friend said they were meeting us a couple mins later, changed to party of 3...told 30mins wait would restart. Went inside after 30mins, told it would be another 30mins bc we added another person (they already told us that) and here we are being told wait time be at an hour length. 3 tables were empty, no one was waiting in the parking lot in their cars for seating yet my friend was instructed to wait outside in his car. I will also add the patrons were all Caucasians...never an issue...but it becomes an issue when he's told to wait in his car-out of sight- and our time is doubled with open tables, and no one else waiting on the list. We left as I will not put up with ignorance and discrimination like that. There's absolutely no excuse for that type of treatment towards ANYONE this day and age. It was an embarrassing and horrible experience to have someone come into town, where they can eat at the fanciest restaurants without issue to have to be treated as if the restaurant didn't want him in there. Horrible treatment. Such a shame and embarrassment. I don't care how "good" the food is...how one treats another holds greater value. Such a disgrace and...
