Located in Waxhaw - Bistro D’Antonio stands out as an exceptional Italian dining experience that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. This charming restaurant provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for any occasion. During our recent visit for their special Mother’s Day brunch, we were thoroughly impressed by the attention to detail and overall excellence.
The Mother’s Day brunch was a delightful affair, featuring a beautifully set up background with lush plants, perfect for taking memorable photographs. The staff was more than willing to assist, ensuring that all guests could capture the special moments with their loved ones.
The brunch menu was extensive, featuring classic items with an Italian twist. One standout dish was the Monte Cristo. Each bite was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity. The menu also included a variety of other brunch staples, all prepared with fresh ingredients and a touch of Italian flair.
Despite being quite busy, the service at Bistro D’Antonio was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient, making sure that every guest felt valued and well taken care of. Their ability to maintain high standards of service during a bustling Mother’s Day brunch was truly commendable.
Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are beautifully decorated, with the outdoor patio offering a serene ambiance that is hard to find. Whether you choose to dine indoors or al fresco, Bistro D’Antonio provides a dining experience that is both comfortable and elegant.

Read moreMy wife and I experienced this wonderful restaurant for the first time on January 19th. It will certainly NOT be our last visit.
We did not have a reservation, and ended up seated at the bar. We were surrounded by repeat patrons who only had great things to say about the place. The atmosphere was lively and just right.
Derek, the bartender, cannot have enough great things said about him. He was hustling - running food, making drinks, and making everyone feel special with great conversation. This dude is on point, and makes a really good cocktail.
The food was amazing, and every dish we saw come out of the kitchen was mouth-watering. My wife and I shared the arancini and the calamari, both were excellent. My linguine with red clam sauce was above and beyond the best I have ever eaten - with fresh clams on the shell and a certain 'taste of the ocean' that is absent when the clams are from a can. The pasta was also a perfect al dente. My wife loved her chicken francese, but afterwards regretted being adventurous with her order. She won't do that again!
All in all, my only gripe (and not worthy of removing a star) would be that we were told that it would be a half hour wait, and we were still not seated after an hour and a fifteen minutes. The hostesses (why were there two?) crossed us off the wait list after I told them we'd get a drink and WAIT at the bar. However - we turned lemons into limoncello - and got to meet some wonderful people and a super bartender...
Read moreWe arrived last night for a family dinner to celebrate and we were excited to order the chicken franchese as the last time I was there with a group it tasted phenomenal. This time around it tasted horrible to the point my wife and son stated it tasted funny and did not touch their meals. The food did not have any sauce and looked like a battered pancake smelling like eggs. They took the food back and we asked for chicken parm but the waitor never came back to ask what side we wanted and we all got served sauce drenched spaghetti which my wife and I were trying to avoid. The chicken parm came out quickly but the thin slices of chicken was very hard and once again tasted funny. Not sure if that was a bad batch of chicken breasts or eggs during the preparation that is served to customers. The older gentleman with the beard once told about our experience told us the food was no charge picked up the plates and disappeared. It felt like we were being throw out. Not sure why the food is a hit or miss and not consistent. I was not looking for a free meal. I was looking to have a good time and pay my check. The old man could have been more sympathetic toward our concerns but he resonated anger and disgust. He just wanted us to leave. In 52 years I ate at numerous Italian restaurants but I never had to return both plates and the way we parted, we were made uncomfortable. I guess the old man, "The Host" NEVER wants...
