I truly wish I could give Royal Bliss a 5 star review. My husband and I have tried to give Royal Bliss several chances, but this evening was our last. We had heard from several people that they are not kid friendly but thought we would give it a few tries. We love that Royal Bliss offers a decent variety of food options as well as beer options. We have never had a bad meal/beer there. Every time we have visited Royal Bliss has been when they open or in the early evening before any entertainment starts (this usually happens around 7PM). We have young children who love to play and have a good time. As parents we strive to make sure our children are well behaved but also allow our children to "be children" (no rough housing or climbing all over the establishment).
This evening, we arrived just before 5 PM and there was hardly anyone there. When we arrived we noticed an older staff member (Deb) was overly attentive and watched every move they made. Our children were playing with their toys enjoying themselves. There were several children playing on the stage not bothering anyone and we noticed that Deb had sternly gone over to them and said something that disrupted the harmless playing between children. Deb was not welcoming, calm, nor did she have a welcoming demeanor. We felt that as soon as we had arrived she was looking for something to criticize anyones child, the "kids bouncer". We understand safety is a top priority but this was a little much for us.
As mentioned above, when we have gone to Royal Bliss with our children, we always have made sure we leave before the entertainment out of respect for guests that want to relax without children. Unfortunately, what people have told us has come true and we will not be back. We will continue to support the other breweries in the local area that allow children to be children and enjoy themselves.
If the atmosphere you are striving for is no children, then state that because it is unfortunate for families that want to bring their children places that have to...
Read moreWe recently hosted a family gathering at Royal Bliss Brewery, and it turned out great! Haley was our point of contact in planning the event, walking us through options, deposits, food/drink selections, and so on. Chef Bobby was fantastic with helping us plan the appropriate quantity of food for our guest count, and working around a food allergy. The team on site the day of our event were super helpful and friendly. We reserved the upstairs party room, which gives you access to a portion of the upstairs outdoor space. The party room is a great place to set up as your "home base." We had our food, dessert table, and gift table in that space; and also played a personal presentation on the TV in the room (by connecting to our personal computer). Guests cycled in/out between the party room and larger space. Unfortunately bad weather damaged the windscreens for the outdoor space the day before, making it impossible to section off and keep heated (important in January), but the Royal Bliss team quickly flexed and gave us the entire upstairs for our event to compensate (we could still access outdoors, it just wasn't heated). We had access to the space an hour before our event to set up decor, etc.; and for a while after to clear things out. The food catered by Royal Bliss was very good. We ordered a variety of their pizzas, the small bites Mac & Cheese and BBQ Meatballs, and a pan of the Buffalo Chicken Dip. All were a hit with our guests. We brought in dessert from outside. For drinks, we opted to purchase drink tokens, but could have run a tab at the upstairs bar. Each token could be used by a guest for their choice of a beer, cider, wine, etc. - many great options (unused tokens can be used during a future visit). Soft drink refills were fast and easy, with the dispenser in the guest space alongside a popcorn machine. Everyone had a great time and were complimentary of the food, drink, space, and staff; and we felt it was a good value. Definitely recommend if you want to plan a...
Read moreSO DISAPPOINTED. We had family from out of town, and Burgers and Beer was our mission. There are lots of choices around for that, but we hadn't tried the burgers here yet. We arrived at around 7 pm. and by 7:15 had our drinks. It was very busy, so that was great. Beer was good. By 7:40, our server hadn't come back so we went to find her and told her we were ready to order food. We ordered 4 burgers. By 8:15, the crowd was thinning, but no food yet. Our server never came back, but we found someone else who told us it would be ready in 5.-10 minutes, that some rain had delayed their outdoor cooking. After 15 more mins, We tried to get someone's attention, but something was up and both the other server and the food runner were talking and pointing to our table yet wouldn't come over. Around 8:40 our server finally came back to see if we needed anything. We asked about our burgers and she was surprised they never came. She went to check, and after another 10 mins or so came back to say it was almost ready. We told her never mind, we were done. The manager then came over to apologize. He said that one of our orders had a gluten free bun, and that had caused the delays. I have no idea why that would be. He was confused too. He said they could box it up for us to go, and there would be no charge. We thanked him. However, he came back to share there was no food because they heard we told the waitress never mind. It seemed like they never really cooked anything, but we couldn't get a straight answer. Two servers and the manager had different stories on what happened. It was great for the manager to come out, and we really appreciate the apologies. They also gave us credit to come back, but I'm not sure we ever will. There are too many other choices around to pick from. Our visiting family (and us) were terribly...
