I really wanted to like this place. We dine out often & wanted another nice dining place other than Epic Chophouse. We won’t ever return here & it starts with the terrible, rude management. The food comes in as the runner up.
I ordered a Diet Coke. I got one with my soup but was told the machine broke, so I couldn’t have anymore. Understandable, things happen. So I ordered a water w/ lemon & drank that through my entree. When we got the bill- I was still charged for a soda. We mentioned we didn’t feel we should have to pay for the soda since I couldn’t have it with my meal, which was the whole purpose of even ordering it in the first place. Our server said she would take care of it but this is where it went downhill.
Another lady (Jen) marched over with a to-go cup & said here’s your Diet Coke- mind you, we’re paying the bill at this point & she didn’t even introduce herself so we had no idea who she was or why she felt the need to be so abrasive. I expected finer dining and a little more ambiance when coming here but it’s SO FAR from that. I said dinner is over & I wouldn’t have ordered the Diet Coke in the first place if I couldn’t have it with my meal or know that I could only get a limited amount. I shouldn’t have to pay for a service that you’re not providing or able to fulfill. I’m not asking you all to write off a lobster tail.. it’s a $3.50 Diet Coke but even more so the principle. She clapped her hands together & said well you consumed one, you’re paying for it. I honestly was so appalled at her attitude but also for charging for me a service that they werent able to fulfill due to broken equipment & poor communication. The customer service, conflict resolution, & professionalism was so disappointing. Especially from a manager when we’re paying $125 for a meal. I would be embarrassed if Jen was the FOH manager that represented my company.
For the food, it was subpar. The lobster bisque does have a really great taste but unfortunately didn’t have any actual lobster in the soup. I found the scoop of mashed potatoes in the center to be an odd twist, but surprisingly good! My filet was cooked perfectly but didn’t have much of a flavor at all. For the cherry on the sundae, our silverware was rolled in a dirty napkin. I also want to add we were here because it was my significant others 35th birthday (great birthday, right). They don’t ask if you’re there celebrating like a good portion of restaurants do, even by just acknowledging it. The entire experience was just disappointing.
I’m here to complain because I still can’t believe how this was handled, but to also let others know so that maybe you’re not going into this expecting it to be nicer than what it is. Do yourself the favor & go to Epic (the ribeye 104 south is great) if you’re wanting to stay local- otherwise make the trip to Charlotte,...
Read moreLast night was our first dining experience at table 31. We ordered the chicken Fried oysters as an appetizer. They came out fairly quick and were excellent. I ordered prime rib as my entrée; however, the server came back shortly after, and said they were out of prime rib. Bummer! So I opted for the French dip sandwich. It was actually really good, though pricey for a sandwich and shoestring fries. I will say that the fries were also very good. We also had the cowboy ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t say that the service was the best that we have received somewhere or even close to it. The servers seem to be kind of scattered throughout the restaurant versus working more so in one area of the restaurant which doesn’t really make sense. In addition, it was absolutely freezing in there. The vents were blowing directly on me, and it made it impossible to enjoy the night. A lady sat next to me and asked to be moved because she also was freezing. Luckily, her husband had a sports coat on and was able to give it to her, and she was able to move one table down where the vent was not blowing directly on her. We asked the server about the temperature and she stated that it was on 73 and that was the highest it would let her go… I’m not sure if that’s the case or whatever the case is however, I do know that it was ridiculously cold, and definitely shortened the time that we spent there due to this. After receiving my entrée, I waited forever it seemed for the server to come and check to see if we needed anything in which I did want ketchup for my fries and our cups were relatively empty and we had to ask for refills. Overall, the food was good, but the service wasn’t the best, and being so cold didn’t help us enjoy our time as much as we could have. We would likely come back, but more prepared for the freezing temperatures 🥶
Also, after I was told they were out of prime rib, I heard 2 other people try to order it. Wouldn’t it make sense to just tell people from the beginning that you’re out of something so they don’t spend time deciding on what they want to eat, just to be told you don’t have it. Seems like it would be pretty simple to just let people know when you take their drink order to let them know you’re out of a...
Read moreWow! Wow! Wow! This restaurant is AMAZING! I hate to merely call it a restaurant…it’s more of a Culinary Experience. Whomever owns and runs this place is a total genius! He or she really “gets it” as far as what makes a great restaurant and what people really want. Firstly, from the moment we walked in, this place is beautiful. Inviting outdoor area in the front with comfy sofas for waiting. Warm and pleasant lighting throughout and upbeat music playing. Lighting is not too dark and not too light. Music is not too quiet and not too loud. Everything is perfect! We were warmly greeted, taken to our table, promptly waited on. Service was excellent and the staff seemed to work great together as a team from the servers, to the food runners, to the bussers. Even the manager made rounds to check in with everyone’s tables. Our server was Alexa so kudos to her for helping make our experience so wonderful! Now…for the comments on the food and drinks…This is the REALLY good stuff and I have to admit, I’m at a loss for words to describe exactly how exceptional they are. We tried 2 different signature cocktails. “La Pear Tini” and “The Antioxidant”. Both were extraordinary with unexpected twists with flavors. Everything we ate also had unusual yet delicious twists that ranged from subtle nuances to unbelievable wows. For appetizers we had “Kettle Chips” (homemade chips with braised beef, Parmesan cheese and blue cheese) and “Stinking Rose” (funny named dish with roasted garlic and ciabatta bread). Each of us dining had superb main courses as well with special mentions of their New Orleans Shrimp and their tender and juicy Filet Mignon. I highly recommend these dishes but I’m sure that everything on the menu is amazing. The desserts were phenomenal as well and my 13 year old son said (and I quote) “Mom, this Oreo cookie dessert is so good that I think I am going to cry!” Now that...
