The fish tacos were very good. Crisp, fried white fish with slaw.

Unfortunately, the decent food can't make up for the poor service. We waited almost 20 minutes before a server touched our table - even then, we had to go to the front and tell them no server had been to our table, They finally made it to our table, took our drink and food orders, and it still took almost 30 minutes just to get our drinks.

There were at least 5 empty tables, so they were not slammed with business - it was simply poor service and/or lack of serving experience. Honestly, we should have gotten up and walked out, but it just so happened that we were not in a hurry that day. All other customers received the same lack of service that we did.

I'm all about supporting local businesses, but they need to fix the service issue or their business won't be around a year from now. No one expects a sit-down resturant to be fast fiod; however, most working people - be they WCU students, staff, professorsors and/or local construction laborers - don't have that kind of time to spend on their lunch break waiting for someone to simply...

So the first time my fiancé and I went we ordered 4 fish tacos (by themselves…just the tortilla and piece of fish. No coleslaw or anything, just plain and not as a meal) We got them 2 for $5 paying $10 for our 4 tacos. I go back again a week later and order them just for myself, no meal and plain again. The waitress takes my order, brings out my tacos, and I begin to eat the one shrimp taco I also ordered. She then comes back and says, we’re not gonna do the same price as last time, would you like a side so you can pay full price? I didn’t like any of the sides they had available and I politely said, that’s something you should have mentioned when I ordered BEFORE bringing out my order. So I said there are no sides that I’d like, so you can take them back. Seriously! Who brings out your food, THEN tells you that? I could understand if they honored it and informed me for the next visit but to actually have the plate on the table and take it back? Poor customer service. And just for that, we will not...

Sad to say the Santa fe (southwest) salad was phoned in. The chicken was some pre cooked freezer chicken you. An get at the grocery store and the salad was like one of those bags you buy at the store. :-( check my picture, the presentation was yucky, not appetizing at all. I had the Cuban sandwich. Dry and tasteless. Minimal toasting on the bread. I have had these sandwiches in Miami in and the Ft Lauderdale Airport that were so much better. (Get the tater tots. Fried to perfection :-) Ok, I did not expect that level of quality or did I. I have been reading the reviews and seeing what they have posted and I did expect better than I received. The specials taped to the door when you enter that are not in English may be what you should order. I did not see those in English inside the restaurant. I really want this place to do well because I live nearby. So take off the freezer chicken, freezer chicken fried steak, freezer hamburgers and go for what you know and give us tasty...

My boyfriend and I went here and it was a really nice experience. We decided to come here because there was a baked potato in one of the photos, and I love baked potatoes! It isn’t on the menu they currently have, but they said they are working on updating the menu. I got a burger with a baked potato, and he got a buffalo chicken wrap with mac and cheese. The burger was nice, and the baked potato was really good. It was a $3 up-charge for the baked potato but it was a nice size and it came with cheese and bacon. The buffalo chicken wrap was delicious. I had a bite and the chicken was nice and crispy. The mac and cheese was Kraft, but it had some sort of sauce with jalapeño in it, which made it really good. Ruth was our server and she was very attentive and friendly! Some suggestions I have are having salt, pepper, and ketchup available on the tables. I feel bad asking for extra condiments. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu!

Been traveling periodically to WCU in Cullowhee over 40 years and NEVER Knew this restaurant existed. I met our son who works at WCU for lunch today, but discovered the campus Chili's is now closed. Found The Cat's Table online. WOW! Mixed with elation (we found our eatery for all future visits) and disgust at all the times we could have eaten there. Jay, our son, had the country fried steak topped with brown gravy and fried onions and a loaded baked potato. I went for it and ordered the Monster Burger. Enjoyed every bite. Very good potato salad, too. And good old fashioned southern sweet tea. Ready for our next meal!
