If you’re driving past the Country Diner and don’t stop in, you’re doing life wrong. This isn’t just food – this is a hug on a plate, grandma’s Sunday table, and a front-row ticket to flavor heaven all rolled into one. And let me just say — the ladies working here definitely don’t look like any grandma I’ve ever seen… more like supermodels serving up biscuits and sweet tea. Talk about southern hospitality with style!
The home cooking? Out. Of. This. World. Fluffy biscuits that taste like they were hand-delivered from the clouds. Meatloaf that so good it should have its own theme song. Mashed potatoes smoother than a country love song at sunset. And don’t even get me started on the cakes – if joy had a flavor, it would be baked right into those sweet delights.
But the real secret ingredient here is the owners. You walk in and they treat you like you’ve been part of the family for years. They remember faces, they remember stories, and they make sure you leave happier (and fuller) than when you walked in. The kind of people you want running America, but thankfully, they’re too busy making sure we all get fed right.
Bottom line: This diner isn’t just a place to eat. It’s a place to belong. Do yourself a favor and go. Then go again. Then tell everyone you...
Read moreMe and my husband have come here several times to eat breakfast and lunch and this morning is the last time. I have never been in a diner and had waitresses not check on you, nor offer you condiments for your food, jelly for toast and biscuits, sugar for unsweet tea, and you have to ask for everything and then it is tossed on your table, not politely laid down as they walk by. And not one time that we have come here has a waitress came and ask if we wanted anything else. These waitresses grab your dishes while you are still at the table. That is so rude. They won't talk to you casually and make you feel welcome. I feel rushed each time I've been there. As we was paying to leave my husband was talking to the cashier, but she wanted to talk to the man behind us. No thank you, nor come back. You just don't feel welcome, at least me and my husband who used to enjoy...
Read moreNew management this year! And a wonderful improvement! We had eaten here earlier and we were pleasantly surprised by how much better everything was. The food was very good, the service was great and the manager was a great addition to the experience. I had a Chef’s Salad. The mixed greens were fresh and crispy. The turkey, cheese, tomatoes and bacon were all tasty. My wife had a hamburger with fried potatoes. They were delicious and cooked just right. We came in a little too late for breakfast, which ended at 10:45. It would be nice if that were an option through lunch. I’m glad we gave it a second chance. We’ll be going back, and I highly recommend that you give it a try! You...
