UPDATE 5.27.23 âââââ
Another 5 star dinner at BPBG We sat at the bar and watched the mixologists make art work in a glass. We both had the brisket dinner and a chocolate mousse parfait dessert and it was fantastic. The service was excellent and a band was just about to start when we left. Looked like a very fun time. They even have an awesome outside deck area that feels like a backyard BBQ vibe. Can't wait for some more summer nights at Big Phil's UPDATE 12.25.22 CAN I GIVE 5 STARS TWICE
Had the absolute pleasure of being waited on by mixologist extraordinare and Owner himself Big Phil who is probably the nicest restaurant owner and all around amazing HOSTS I have ever met đ„° Our dinner was fantastic. Phil was entertaining and actively interacting with his regulars or first timers. He truly knows how to make you feel like you walked into a friend or family members home. His mixology skills are awesome and fun to watch while dining at the bar. âââââ Once again and I just couldn't let it go without updating this original review. â The extra star goes to Big Phil for being Awesome. (He gives me a Sam Malone/Cheers vibe) Be sure to check out Big Phil's you won't regret itđŻ
Wow...
I highly enjoyed my first visit to Big Phil's with my husband yesterday. The atmosphere and ambiance were pleasing and not distracting. The wait staff were knowledgeable about the menu and even agreed the 2 dishes we chose were her 2 favorite go tos on the menu. We started off with a monster plate of the best onion rings we both had ever had. My husband ordered the Chicken Alfloydo (think Alfredo and add jerk seasoning) and I ordered the Sea Scallops over fettuccini both served with rustic baguette style garlic bread. Nice and crunchy đ Desserts all looked and sounded amazing but we passed as we were so full from our meals. The pan seared (to perfection) jumbo sea scallops were my favorite part. We will...
Read moreI had only been to Big Philâs a few times and had nothing but good experiences until this time.
The evening started out great! Super attentive and welcoming staff (to start). A friend and I saw an Instagram post about a Spring / Easter themed âSip and Paintâ event and decided to have a girlâs night. For $20-$25 a person, I was expecting more than what was provided. The âcanvasesâ provided were very flimsy and also, mainly Valentineâs Day themed. Still we stayed, the food was pretty good and our waitress was delightful⊠until the end of the evening. The event was scheduled 5-8, and we finished up between 8-8:30. Apparently the dining room closes at 9 PM during the week, something that was never told to us. The staff then began to clean the dining room while we were seated. This included mopping and stacking chairs on tables. Meanwhile, we still hadnât received our check. After 8 PM, the service was really sad. We didnât receive the check until 9 PM, after we had to stop a busser to ask for it because our waitress hadnât been to the table since about 7:45 - 8 PM. We then proceeded to sit and wait for our waitress to come back to grab it. At this point, it is 9:45 PM and we had to search for the waitress to let her know we were ready.
Overall, was a super frustrating experience the longer it went on, especially for it being a slow night and my friend and I being the only people who came specifically for the âSip and Paintâ event.
Most likely will not be returning. Poor service can be forgiven, having a long night or stressful day is always understandable. However, the dirty looks received while the staff cleaned around us was, quite frankly, unacceptable.
If you go to Big Philâs, sit in the bar area on week night. It is a much better experience, and I would not recommending the âSip and Paintâ experience for any...
Read moreWell I spent last night puking in their bathroom b/c I have food intolerances/allergies and asked for an unseasoned burger with just cheese and bacon on it. It came loaded with onions, garlic, lettuce, pickles, etc. I took a bite after picking everything off and that was all it took. My husband is eating it leftover now and confirmed it is definitely seasoned and full of garlic and onions. Our whole kitchen smells strongly.
NOT KID Friendly food-wise! They also heavily seasoned a toddler's meal and she wouldn't touch it. She LOVES quesadillas normally. My husband will have to eat that too since I can't. That was my backup meal. Ugh. They did have a highchair so that was one good thing.
Staff was around, except they screwed up my simple order and made me really sick. They also brought the wrong meal for someone in our group and everyone was eating before she got her correct meal.
I thought it was nice that the owner came out and introduced himself.
Atmosphere was the best part. Great job redoing TGI Friday's. Upbeat.
My family won't go back b/c food allergies/intolerances is pretty important for staff to pay attention to and they clearly couldn't handle it. I missed the majority of our family reunion b/c I was puking in the bathroom.
â Edit: Iâm sure you made me a fresh burger but the point is it wasnât executed so that i received it. Someone else got it. I was given a burger w toppings I specifically asked the female waitress not to be on it - shouldnât matter if I told you Iâm allergic or not - you donât put them on. Even McDonaldâs can follow an...
