Now giving rating I'm giving it, the two stars is not something I give lately but given the fact that the flavors lacked a lot of passion and the flavor was not there. This was after going to different Thai places around the city doimg6a try and compare plus I wanted to try ND Asia for the first time. After so much fanfare about this from coworkers, now here's a chance to give this a try, the menu was quite vast and had so many options which gave it a lot of promise and really was something that I was excited to try after not having to tried this place for so long, maybe I was missing out on something.
First going in it wasn't very busy and the service happened to be pretty fast it seemed like it was right on time as to be expected which was nice, a wait isn't bad either. The smell inside remind me of a place where there's quite happening, there was a party like Ambiance and had a little bit of the burnt smell of char which is great i was excited for having that and hearing people laughing, the waiters having a great time with the customers which was really awesome to see.
However that alone does not make up for the the food lacking flavor. A lot of flavor and passion the color the ambience of the food didn't quite match the hype that I heard for so long. After seeing a lot of Thai places from either locally, out of state or around the world. This place had none of the ambience of places that I've tried before, almost like just saying we are an Asian food place, the locals won't know really good food is. Inside the picture that I attached you can see the comparison, Baan Rao was in the back where you can see the vast difference from other Thai places.
In the morning I had to insert Egg Green Onion oyster sauce in various other flavors just to bring it to par. Something like that should not have to be done in the morning, it should be a simple heat up and eat out of pure gluttony of goodness but instead it was dry, no flavor, lack of salt and lack of color should have been the iceberg to sink this Titanic where from other places which resulted in zero flavor wouldn't be happening. In some places, they at least fake it. The locals deserve more, i know space is a foreign concept, but that's ok, tamerin was no where to be found, MSG would have spiced it up completely. Yes i added that to bring this dish from the dead.
Would I ever go back? Probably after a very long time just like a few other places in town that were disappointing, I won't go back for at least a year just because times do change people can improve and recover from what was done before. Overall it is a two star. I didn't like it due to my high standard even up here there is a great quality. No one starved which is very important, but for a place that just opened up and reopened after failing an inspection I would expect this place to have overwhelming amazingness of redemption. As I give my Gordon Ramsay style review the pad thai was kind of dreadful.
Add flavors for soul searching for the journey to redemption begins. Not like Batman Begins eoic journey. My tolerance for subpar asian food is low, even dives with bullet holes and buildings with faded glory give passion, i don't like giving low ratings but this was needed for improvement. As a lesson for locals and anywhere, if it looks flashy in a small town, then inside will be lacking. Same goes for all food places, if the building is ugly, then she will be...

Read moreThe last few times we ate here it was not good at all, but I figured today we’d give it another try as we wanted to order to go quickly and this restaurant was in the vicinity of where we were. We live 69 miles from minot so we wanted to pick up our food and head home. Got to the restaurant, my total was 80$ for 3 lunch meals and a roll. Spendy I thought but oh well. Tipped them 10% since it was just a Togo order and asked if there was silverware they said yes. Got to my vehicle checked the bags no sushi roll
I go back in ask for my rolls which they forgot
Got my rolls then go back to my vehicle and see they didn’t give me silverware Go back in to get silverware ugh kind of irritating but still, not that big of a deal…
Now onto the food
I specifically asked for our hibachi steaks to be done medium rare so they can be warmed up later and not be over cooked. Like I stated before we live out of town so we bring them home and warm them up.
ALL the steak was cooked well done and it was the WORST cut of steak ever It was stringy and gross Doesn’t even look like filet let alone beef Idk what it was and i don’t care to know.
The meal was soaked in a watery not good juice ? Yuck. Spilled all over the bag.
My kids meal had no vegetables idk if that’s standard but every other hibachi place I’ve ordered at, the kids meals have a serving of veggies Like the adult meals
The salads they gave us were just disgusting watery and limp most likely old lettuce in a weird watery dressing.
The soy sauce they used was a weird brand I never seen before and didn’t even taste like good salty soy sauce it was super bland.
The noodles all stuck together in a brick.
Don’t even get me started on the rolls…
The only good thing was their yum yum sauce lol
I would like to add Ive worked in the service industry for over a decade I understand mistakes are made and food is not always up to par. It gets over cooked, you get busy and forget things etc But today was not simple mistakes everything was just plain awful, no care was taken to make sure the order was correct or tasteful. I picked up food at 2:30 which if anyone works in a bar restaurant, knows that’s a very slow time. There was only one or two tables seated in the restaurant. My order should’ve been fulfilled correctly Today was next level awful, and the thing is I gave it another shot today because the past times I’ve been there it’s been awful too.
I’m not a very picky person honestly I never leave reviews but i feel compelled to after my experience today. I am doing so in hopes the restaurant reads this and makes some changes for their own benefit and for their customers. I can’t believe I spent 80$ for such an awful watery gross meal. It...
