Now giving rating I'm giving it, the two stars is not something I give lately but given the fact that the flavors lacked a lot of passion and the flavor was not there. This was after going to different Thai places around the city doimg6a try and compare plus I wanted to try ND Asia for the first time. After so much fanfare about this from coworkers, now here's a chance to give this a try, the menu was quite vast and had so many options which gave it a lot of promise and really was something that I was excited to try after not having to tried this place for so long, maybe I was missing out on something. First going in it wasn't very busy and the service happened to be pretty fast it seemed like it was right on time as to be expected which was nice, a wait isn't bad either. The smell inside remind me of a place where there's quite happening, there was a party like Ambiance and had a little bit of the burnt smell of char which is great i was excited for having that and hearing people laughing, the waiters having a great time with the customers which was really awesome to see. However that alone does not make up for the the food lacking flavor. A lot of flavor and passion the color the ambience of the food didn't quite match the hype that I heard for so long. After seeing a lot of Thai places from either locally, out of state or around the world. This place had none of the ambience of places that I've tried before, almost like just saying we are an Asian food place, the locals won't know really good food is. Inside the picture that I attached you can see the comparison, Baan Rao was in the back where you can see the vast difference from other Thai places. In the morning I had to insert Egg Green Onion oyster sauce in various other flavors just to bring it to par. Something like that should not have to be done in the morning, it should be a simple heat up and eat out of pure gluttony of goodness but instead it was dry, no flavor, lack of salt and lack of color should have been the iceberg to sink this Titanic where from other places which resulted in zero flavor wouldn't be happening. In some places, they at least fake it. The locals deserve more, i know space is a foreign concept, but that's ok, tamerin was no where to be found, MSG would have spiced it up completely. Yes i added that to bring this dish from the dead. Would I ever go back? Probably after a very long time just like a few other places in town that were disappointing, I won't go back for at least a year just because times do change people can improve and recover from what was done before. Overall it is a two star. I didn't like it due to my high standard even up here there is a great quality. No one starved which is very important, but for a place that just opened up and reopened after failing an inspection I would expect this place to have overwhelming amazingness of redemption. As I give my Gordon Ramsay style review the pad thai was kind of dreadful. Add flavors for soul searching for the journey to redemption begins. Not like Batman Begins eoic journey. My tolerance for subpar asian food is low, even dives with bullet holes and buildings with faded glory give passion, i don't like giving low ratings but this was needed for improvement. As a lesson for locals and anywhere, if it looks flashy in a small town, then inside will be lacking. Same goes for all food places, if the building is ugly, then she will be yummy inside.

Audited Verified Review (AVR) ND Asia, Minot, ND Brief History ND Asia, located in Minot, ND, is a restaurant offering a fusion of Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes. Established to cater to Minot’s diverse dining preferences, it likely opened in the 2010s, aligning with the city’s growing food scene post-Bakken oil boom. The restaurant is known for its sushi, stir-fries, and casual dining atmosphere, serving both locals and visitors. NAICS Code ND Asia operates under NAICS Code 722511 (Full-Service Restaurants), as it provides sit-down dining where patrons order, are served, and pay after eating. Ownership Specific ownership details are not publicly available. ND Asia appears to be an independent, locally owned business, common among Minot’s small restaurants. No corporate or franchise affiliations are noted in available sources. Management Management information is not documented. Operations are likely overseen by an owner-operator or general manager, with staff including chefs, servers, and support personnel, typical for a full-service restaurant of its size. Address 1505 N Broadway, Minot, ND 58703 Phone Number (701) 838-8868 Website No official website is identified. ND Asia maintains an online presence through review platforms like Yelp, Google, and TripAdvisor, and ordering services like DoorDash. Economic Impact ND Asia contributes to Minot’s economy by attracting diners, generating tax revenue, and supporting local suppliers through purchases of ingredients. It enhances Minot’s dining diversity, drawing customers to the Broadway corridor, which boosts nearby businesses. The restaurant’s role in the hospitality sector supports tourism and local commerce in a post-oil boom economy. Employment Exact employee numbers are unavailable, but ND Asia likely employs 15–30 staff, including cooks, servers, hosts, and dishwashers, based on its size and full-service model. Employment may fluctuate with seasonal tourism and local events. Compliance No compliance issues are reported. ND Asia must adhere to North Dakota health codes, food safety regulations, and, if applicable, liquor licensing. Positive reviews and ongoing operations suggest compliance with state and local standards. Reputation ND Asia has a solid reputation, with a 4.4/5 Google rating (580+ reviews) and 4/5 on Yelp, praised for fresh sushi, flavorful dishes like General Tso’s chicken, and friendly service. Some customers note slow service during peak hours or inconsistent dish quality, but overall, it’s a favored spot for Asian cuisine in Minot. Social Responsibility Participation and Involvement Score (SRPIS) Score: 3/10. ND Asia engages minimally with the community through its role as a local business, potentially sourcing some ingredients locally and participating in food delivery platforms. However, there’s no evidence of significant social responsibility initiatives, such as charity events, sustainability practices, or community outreach, limiting the score.

THEY AUTOMATICALLY ADD 15% TIP TO YOUR TAB IF YOU HAVE A PARTY OF 6 OR MORE. 11/6/25. Food was alright compared to real Asian restaurants. Service was terrible. I had to send my water glass back because the outside was smudged with stuck food. I checked my girlfriend’s glass and it was smudged too and said she didn’t do that. She said damn so my glass is contaminated and she didn’t drink from it from them on. As we got our tabs, someone from the group noticed the gratuity charge so I asked about it. I spoke to the manager stating that we hadn’t paid yet and didn’t add that. He said it’s automatic. I told him we only chose 5 items on the menu, gratuity wasn’t on the menu, we didn’t choose that. He said for a party of 6 or more it’s automatic because some parties leave without tipping the server. I said we had separate tabs, 3 different total, our tab was three people. And he said it doesn’t matter you were at the same table. I said we don’t want to tip, we weren’t going to tip anyway. My water glass was dirty and I had to send it back and the server will tell you that. Someone from our table wanted to order a soup and I gave them mine because the server never showed back up. Our food came out when a few people were halfway done and the restaurant was DEAD. He says but servers only make $10 an hour and it’s not fair. I agree it’s low but the tip is my choice take it off… he kept saying “but how much are you going to tip the server”. I told him I’ve never seen that charge in any restaurant. He says “every restaurant does it, even Longhorns (as if it makes it any better)” and “we been doing this a long time”. He wouldn’t agree to take it off and time was dragging on so we left. Ending thoughts: it’s like adding a portion of the electricity bill and saying “but we have to keep the restaurant running”. Their wage has nothing to do with our tip. You shouldn’t push a tip on us without our consent. No hospitality. They had a salad bar and someone mentioned it was all you can eat. That’s something he could’ve said “btw we have a salad bar please help yourselves”. He didn’t even ask how our food was! He took the order, dropped food off then dropped off tab. Gratuity is for the service the server gives. It’s voluntary. It’s not a decision for the restaurant to make for you. They should pay them more if that’s the case and TRAIN THEM BETTER. I even stacked our plates neatly when we were done as I was a server before. They assume every big party is messy and will tax you for it with 15% tip. Also, nice fake 5 star yelp reviews 👍

Same goes for all food places, if the building is ugly, then she will be...

The last few times we ate here it was not good at all, but I figured today we’d give it another try as we wanted to order to go quickly and this restaurant was in the vicinity of where we were. We live 69 miles from minot so we wanted to pick up our food and head home. Got to the restaurant, my total was 80$ for 3 lunch meals and a roll. Spendy I thought but oh well. Tipped them 10% since it was just a Togo order and asked if there was silverware they said yes. Got to my vehicle checked the bags no sushi roll

I go back in ask for my rolls which they forgot

Got my rolls then go back to my vehicle and see they didn’t give me silverware Go back in to get silverware ugh kind of irritating but still, not that big of a deal…

Now onto the food

I specifically asked for our hibachi steaks to be done medium rare so they can be warmed up later and not be over cooked. Like I stated before we live out of town so we bring them home and warm them up.

ALL the steak was cooked well done and it was the WORST cut of steak ever It was stringy and gross Doesn’t even look like filet let alone beef Idk what it was and i don’t care to know.

The meal was soaked in a watery not good juice ? Yuck. Spilled all over the bag.

My kids meal had no vegetables idk if that’s standard but every other hibachi place I’ve ordered at, the kids meals have a serving of veggies Like the adult meals

The salads they gave us were just disgusting watery and limp most likely old lettuce in a weird watery dressing.

The soy sauce they used was a weird brand I never seen before and didn’t even taste like good salty soy sauce it was super bland.

The noodles all stuck together in a brick.

Don’t even get me started on the rolls…

The only good thing was their yum yum sauce lol

I would like to add Ive worked in the service industry for over a decade I understand mistakes are made and food is not always up to par. It gets over cooked, you get busy and forget things etc But today was not simple mistakes everything was just plain awful, no care was taken to make sure the order was correct or tasteful. I picked up food at 2:30 which if anyone works in a bar restaurant, knows that’s a very slow time. There was only one or two tables seated in the restaurant. My order should’ve been fulfilled correctly Today was next level awful, and the thing is I gave it another shot today because the past times I’ve been there it’s been awful too.

I’m not a very picky person honestly I never leave reviews but i feel compelled to after my experience today. I am doing so in hopes the restaurant reads this and makes some changes for their own benefit and for their customers. I can’t believe I spent 80$ for such an awful watery gross meal. It...
