Before we get going, the rating is generous by 1/2 . Went to the Centennial location with some friends after work. This was a party of seven. Some rules they have are: You will be seated when half of your party arrives and they will only take 4 cards for payment but will split the bill however you want. So get your Venmo ready to pay your friends and family back, because a maximum of 4 people can pay. Now let's get down to it. It was an okay experience. A lot of the employees looked like they didn't really want to be there. Nobody was smiling and very serious. I saw one employee in the restroom and asked her if she was okay. One busboy was picking his nose on the way back to the kitchen. Oye. By the way, they have tvs everywhere, even in the restrooms. The bar looks like it would be fun. I ordered guacamole tableside for our group. It was very good. The cadence was off. I ordered dessert first and told our server, I would be ordering other things. He said to let him know the whole order and he would make sure nothing would come out together. Don't give your whole order. This is a turnover the customers place. Get them in and out quickly. The fried ice cream (3) comes out and before I'm half way through, here comes the shrimp cocktail (5*). I've just started my shrimp cocktail and here comes my entre which ended up cooling down. The guacamole wasn't really enjoyed because they brought everything out so fast and took a basket of chips away on my end of the table. Very rushed. Live music Tuesdays and Thursdays. Big Chill genre. If you feel intense heat near you, just duck a little and look their way. They'll move. I wasn't sure if the table behind me was going to end up having a little Flaming Kathy with their order. In a nutshell, probably not going back. Final thought: when dining anywhere, order desserts first because you're going to be too full to eat them if you don't and the mains can be eaten later or the next day. There are some fantastic sweets out there. One of the perks...
Read moreCame here on a Tues at 6pm for a solo meal at the bar. I checked in with the hostess and she directed me to an open seat. So far, so good. The bartender asked what I’d like to drink and I ordered a corona. A waiter approached and dropped chips and salsa while I was ordering the beer and started to ask me something, but I was still finishing my drink order with the bartender. When I turned to ask what he was saying, he was gone. Weird. No prob, I’ll wait for my beer and order food after reviewing the menu. 5 minutes later another bartender approached and asked if I’d like something to drink. I hadn’t received my corona yet, so I said, “I believe the other bartender is bringing me a corona.” The two bartenders eventually got together and concluded that I wanted a corona and finally brought it to me a few minutes later.
Almost finished with my beer and halfway through the chips and salsa, still no waiter or bartender offering to take my order. The waiter that dropped the chips and salsa never returned. After 30 minutes I asked for the bill and left. Shouldn’t have to track someone down to take my order while front and center at the bar in a Mexican restaurant. This is service 101!
The bar itself is terribly designed. There is very little overhang on the patron-side. So little that the foot rail sticks out past the edge of the bar. You have to scoot back and lean way over to avoid mashing your knees into the front of the bar. Also, the live music is painfully bad karaoke of American music from a hobbyist, at best. Absolutely ruins...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem near the Aliante area. It is very hard to find authentic tasting Mexican food that isn't in the older North Town area in North Las Vegas. Too many restaurants water down their recipes for gavachos. This place wasn't like that at all. Service was amazing. Vibe was casual and fun. Bar area was vibrant and very welcoming to sports fans. Although we sat in the main dining area. Bathrooms were immaculate. I can't tell you how disappointing it is to attend a good restaurant only to wash your hands in a bathroom that is worse than a 3rd world country's outhouse. Our server was fun and constantly checked on us. He made many suggestions on the menu. We wanted to try something from the breakfast menu and the lunch menu, so we had the shrimp/steak fajitas (for 2) with an order of chilaquiles. Kinda wished the green chilaquiles were spicier, but they were tasty. The fajitas were great and seasoned perfectly. Corn & flour tortillas recièn hechas. The presentation for the fajitas was fun, too. Portion size was average but suitable for the price. I definitely plan on returning to this place to try other menu items. This spot can accommodate any group size from 2 to 8 with ease. Can easily be a place for post church breakfast or after baseball practice munchies. Birthday dinner or lunch break. I'm curious to experience happy hour while watching a game there, too. Looks like the bar could be fun. Perhaps I'll post again if I watch a game there... Only draw back is that it's hard to see...
