This was one of my favorite restaurants...until the customer service I received today. I understand that when you are receiving orders thru a third party, there are levels to communication and service, however, as a business if you choose to use these services then it is your responsibility to do what's necessary to ensure you keep the same level of service and communication for every customer that patronizes your restaurant, regardless of their method of ordering. I placed an order thru postmates, I asked for a special waffle, which is a .50 cent upcharge. There was no option for me to choose this to be charged, so I put the change in the special instructions. Fully expecting to be contacted, as I have been by other restaurants, and the difference rectified. When my food arrived, my special instructions had been ignored. I honestly wasn't upset at first, until I contacted the restaurant. I asked the person on the phone if they were able to see special instructions with third party orders...what happened next is why I will never return to waffles cafe again. let me also add that food should be packaged a certain way for delivery! Placing hot chicken on top of a fresh waffle in a styrofoam box in a plastic bag with butter and sauces in the box, is not the best delivery method. Try putting the waffle in a seperate container with a vent hole so the waffle doesn't get soggy and chewy.*
The woman on the phone proceeded to tell me that yes they saw the special instructions. And knew exactly what my order was without me saying anything further. She stated that they didn't prepare my order as I had asked because I hadn't paid. Ok, still understanding I said I get that, but why didn't anyone call and tell me, we are talking about a 1$ total on a 30$ order. I was told they don't have time to call postmates to adjust or make notifications on orders. At this point I am pissed because I can't fathom knowingly making someone's food incorrectly...over a dollar. I have spent hundreds of dollars in this place, as I eat here atleast once a week. I have a 5$ off coupon in my purse right now...had I been called I could have used that, I also get a veterans discount, which you don't get on the third party sites, that would have covered the dollar as well!
I'm disappointed in the attitude of the person who prepared the food and answered the phone. I was told in so many words that preparing my order properly wasn't a priority because they were busy. I was told that a dollar was more important then my repeat business. I won't be going back, and I will make sure that our club finds another favorite restaurant to patronize! My business may not have been important, so let's see if 5 other families lack of business...
Read moreFirst of all, the restaurant closes at 2pm on a Wednesday. So, I get there 10 min til. I didn’t know they closed at 2pm. The clerk told me, female, that they close in ten minutes and I will have to take this order to go….who does that at a restaurant? If you are in the building before they close you should be able to sit and eat. I ordered the blazin grilled chicken with the combo. So, I got waffle fries and a “Specialty” drink. My drink comes out, it’s a mango ice tea. So, I’m drinking on it until my food was done. When she brings my food over, I asked for a refill…it was half gone and the same clerk told me “no” I can’t get a refill on specialty drinks…. All it was was some regular tea with mango sweetener…that’s dumb. Then, I open up my sandwich, in the car not restaurant because they basically kicked me out after my order, and the grilled chicken pieces were burnt, the sandwich wasn’t well put together. It looked like they just thrown the ingredients in the sandwich and then wrapped tissue paper around it. The fries were the best thing. They did good with that. But, it wasn’t very good service and to not get a refill was crazy to me . Plus on top of that, after eating my sandwich, there was this hard white piece that I couldn’t bite through. Like they put something in my sandwich or something. A pic of it is attached, it looks like a piece of an onion but it’s not. I can’t take it back because they are closed and it didn’t occur until after sandwich was gone but what ever they put in there I ate it and I found a piece of it. Please be careful eating here. But, probably won’t be going back here. I hate going to restaurants and spending my hard earned money to people that act like they don’t want to be there and serve you. That reflects on the product and lends to...
Read moreI never leave reviews for places, but hopefully someone will read this and save themselves from the subpar experience my coworker/friend and I had at this establishment 30 mins ago. To start the food was not terrible, but it did not have flavor other than my chicken having a burnt taste. Nothing was amazing about it. I ate the chicken with the help of the hot sauce provided however my friend did not finish hers for the same reason. At the end of our visit we were asked “how was our food?” By an older woman who I presume to be the owner or a manager. I simply stated “ it was ok” she then asked me what was wrong with my food and I mentioned the burnt taste. She did not like that answer and immediately got a very nice-nasty attitude with me and started explaining “ we fry all of our chicken the same which is 7 mins” and again I told her my food wasn’t terrible. I then mentioned my disappointment with the hash brown patty that was $2.75. It was decent however very small and underwhelming for the price. People deserve a little bit more especially if they are going to be served off of paper plates with plastic utensils. And she came again with an attitude which I did not understand because I did not offer my opinion. She asked for it. After that she cut me off mid sentence and walked away shaking her head.
Whether she was the owner or manager does not really matter, but she should first understand that she is representing this establishment. So, to owners of the company and/or the older woman with the burgundy locs she could use a few lessons in customer service as well as taking constructive criticism that she asked for, because again I did not go out of my way to mention to any of the workers the mediocre food you guys served me today. That was not something that I deserved, because I...
