Me & my husband noticed a new hamburger joint in the neighborhood & decided to give a try. What a disaster. He brought the menu to the car, because I'm in a wheelchair. First, the menu was dirty, with dried up ketchup, but I looked past it. I ordered the fish combo, and he order a Pastrami Hamburger. It took 20 minutes to cook, & when it was ready she opened the container & we headed home. They gave us no condiment, but no biggie since he didn't ask for any either. We got home and about to eat he noticed that there was no hamburger patty in his hamburger, so I called to tell them this and the person who took the order began to get very defensive from jump, this was before she even looked at his order telling me he ordered a Pastrami sandwich, I know my husband & what he eats and what he won't eat and he's not going to order a Pastrami sandwich alone, but what sounds like a misunderstanding, I asked how can we rectify this. She began to tell me he looked at it before he left, and he agreed to the order. I explained to her yes he did look at the order, but the only way he would have known that it was missing a hamburger patty was when he picked up the hamburger, she agreed he didn't do that. She kept saying what do you mean by how we can rectify this, I was very cordial, even with her snobby tone. Where was the customer service???? She was chatting in the store when she took his order & he stated the woman she was talking to said they know each other so long & she should take the order & she will wait. That was why she messed the order up, but what got me is the lack of customer service. She didn't offer to make what he wanted, I constantly had to ask her to allow me to finish talking she kept trying to cut me off. I wasn't yelling, couldn't even get that respect. She wanted to go back and fourth for a $8 sandwich which should have been a Pastrami Hamburger. She went on and on telling me that we should have known the difference. I had to remind her that this was our first time coming there. How are we supposed to know. Then she fell back to say we looked at the menu like we can tell you what's all on the menu. He ordered the pastrami hamburger, he wasnt concern about everything else. Anyways I won't order from here again. I love to support Black businesses, but not when they treat their customers like this. This could have been resolved with adding a simple Patty instead of the attitude, arguing back and fourth, talking over me and just being rude...
Read more😭😡!!! Had high hopes in regards to my meal. They mixed greens were none like no other. Disrespectfully gross! The texture tasted like it was from a can but from some days ago. IT WAS NOT FRESH OR MOUTH WATERING AMERICAN SOUL FOOD AS THEY CLAIM😡 The "greens" were clearly over cooked. Dang near translucent, gritty etc etc. Unedible! No seasoning nor effort in providing quality food when others like "You" try to support your business. I'm sure you don't have repeat customers. If you do it isn't for what I ordered😑.When a person comes to a establishment that claims to provide "soul food"...The go to usually is greens, macaroni and cheese and yams. All of the above was veryyy disappointing🙄as well. Macaroni wasn't seasoned well anddd was 🥶cold. Like it was heated in the microwave from the frig on 30 seconds. (Your establishment just opened) Yams tasted canned though it was better than any other sides or food to me. Greens portion was greatly given. But why?? Did yal even taste the food before you served it to the public? Clearly not. That whole pot shuda went to the TRASH. Not even to a transient/nor dog. The pork chops lacked much seasonings. If you fry thick pork chops it's a whole procedure/process to do y'all skipped. The chop was tough like leather. You might want to invest in thinner chops. Clearly unedible. Though fries weren't done fully😑(was still semi cold) The person w me notated the burger was good. That it tasted like real ground beef. I ordered a kids cheeseburger but asked to change the meet to turkey since they sell turkey burgers and my kid is allergic to beef and they flat out refused. No apology or willingness to satisfy a customer, I was even willing to pay a little extra for the substitution. I came here a few weeks ago for another kids meal that comes with a soda and they didn't give it to me, I figured it was a mistake but they did it again this time, just really feel like they nickel and dime customers to save every penny at our expense. I even asked that a soda be exchanged for a water since the kid can't have soda and they flat out refused that as well stating "no substitutions at all"...I also heard other customers getting upset about thier orders. I wanted to support a black owned business but this will be the last time I purchase from them. To the owner: your business has great potential but customer service is lacking as far as professionalism and customer care especially when a customer tells you a kid has allergies to beef but your business refuses to substitute it and instead tells the parent to purchase a adult turkey burger at double the price and also not wanting to substitute a soda (that they weren't going to give me in the first place even though it comes with the meal) for a water because the child can't have soda.
