My husband and I just got married yesterday! It was a small ceremony followed by an even smaller dinner with family at MRKT. We decided to have a small overnight staycation ahead of our honeymoon at the Aliante.
We have visited this casino loyally for years making our weekly "donations" on the casino floor, so this resort is no stranger to us.
This experience we went through was appalling.
Check in was a breeze. Although due to timing we didn't go up to the room until after dinner. Nothing special, not here to gripe over outdated rooms when I knew that's what I was getting us into.
Upon entering our room, it was hot, like an oven. We tried lowering the thermostat and it was apparent the AC was broken. It would kick on but never cooled down. It's gross, but I was literally sweating. We decided to go back down to the front desk, to alert the agent of our issue. It's our wedding night, they aren't sold out so this should be a breeze right? No.
We encountered Jenny at the front desk. Jenny displayed the empathy of a rock & customer service skills to match! No, we didn't want to wait who knows how long on our wedding night for an engineer to come. I did get highly agitated at the eyerolls I must admit. I tried talking with her and there was no getting through. She alerted the hotel manager, who must have been training another woman. She was professional enough and had us go back to our sweltering room while they tried to get us a replacement. My husband called down after a few minutes because they didn't communicate what to do other then sit tight in the room. He reached Jenny at the front desk who decided to route him to the IVR! I was livid, we were going to call once more and then go back down to the front desk again. 2nd call we are hung up on. Thanks Jenny!
So we went back down, Jenny of course ignored us. After a few minutes and a lot of wasted prime time with my new husband we get room #2!
When we finally got to our new room any semblance of a romantic atmosphere was shattered. The room location near the beltway/ Aliante Pkwy was a slap in the face on our wedding night. You heard traffic all night while laying on the lumpy hard mattress.
But wait, there's more. The disappointment keeps coming. So there was hot water in the sink faucet. But no hot water in the shower! Left it on for a few minutes, played with the handle and only managed to get it to get colder and I don't even know how that was possible.
As a pitiful attempt to make amends we got a whopping $62 credit on our room.
LET ME MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR -- No discount could salvage the wreckage of our long anticipated evening.
Aliante-- You managed to turn a memorable night for us to cherish into a nightmare. Your lack of care, broken amenities and sheer disregard have left an indelible mark of disappointment.
Aliante casino is no more than a glorified dump. Your special occasions deserve better than this venue.
P.S. A lot of items in the gift shop were expired, please if you plan on visiting...
Read moreMy 75 year old mother was talked into purchasing a $325 monthly pool pass for herself and my nieces. Less than an hour later, she tried to cancel for a refund because my nieces were going to be out of town for the rest of the summer, but she was told that they have a no refund policy.
I called and spoke to the pool manager, who just so happened to be the person who sold my mother this pool pass, and she told me my mother was told, before the purchase, that there were no refunds. My mother said she only found out after the purchase when she received a laminated pool pass. Oh, and the pool manager got upset when I asked to speak to another manager and told me she considered our conversation over and hung up on me.
Then the hotel manager calls me after I called her and left a voicemail. I say "Hello" She says, "Yes, I'm returning your call" with a short annoyed tone of voice. I ask who I'm talking to. She says, "Cat". I ask, "From Aliante Casino?" She says, "Yes, how can I help you?" with an exasperated tone. I then explain the situation and she says that the pass states that there are no refunds. I asked how helpful that is since we only got the pass after making the purchase. She got short with me again and says that I was told already and she'll tell me again that there are no refunds and basically hangs up on me too.
With no verbal notice and no posted written notice concerning refunds, this should be an incident for which we could file a complaint with a state consumer protection agency, but Nevada apparently does not require businesses to post or even have refund policy information.
Why would a company not allow same day refunds for a service which was unused? Because they rely on hard sales tactics and know that they would otherwise be refunding a high percentage of their sales.
I also question why any company would employ managers like the two I had the misfortune of talking to. No courtesy. No communication skills. If I didn't know they were managers, I wouldn't have believed it if someone had told me. Telling me the exact same thing with a little empathy, a little courtesy, would have made all the difference.
My mother spends at least $1,000 per month gambling at Aliante Casino and more on food. As a family, we generally purchase pool cabana services, which cost $300+ along with food and drinks 3-5 times each summer. This policy is unethical. This sale and situation was deceitful by the pool manager. My mother won't be gambling at Aliante or any Boyd Gaming properties. We as a family will not be spending money or frequenting any of their properties. If we as consumers choose to spend our money with large corporations, we should do so with corporations with ethical policies and practices. Aliante Casino / Boyd Gaming are not where we should be...
Read moreI honestly was very disappointed in the overall service from Aliante hotel. I booked a night that I had originally put the dates for April. Upon submitting payment I realized that the date defaulted back the the current date… my mistake absolutely for not confirming before I hit submit. I promptly contacted the hotel within minutes of the error and was told the reservation had not shown up yet and to call back in an hour. I did that, but then was told they could not cancel per their policy. I told them I did not need to cancel, I just needed to rebook for a different date… they stated they could not. Of course this is a “we have your money now, too bad so sad” type deal because I wasn’t saying I wanted a refund, I would have gladly paid any difference, I just needed a different date. Luckily I live in Vegas (this was a staycation for April) and so instead of wasting $140, I gathered up my 4 year old for one on one time with him. We arrived and the front desk was a little passive aggressive when I casually mentioned the situation. I will say security was very very nice! We got to the room and honestly upon initial inspection it looked great. Went to the bathroom and the tub was dirty and there was hair on my towel (different color so we knew it was not from us). There was a big red stain on the floor in the room that I am unsure of what the contents were, and a sticky white substance by the desk. It just felt icky to me, on top of an already bad interaction from the hotel. I am usually the type who passively just lets things be how they are because I do not enjoy conflict or complaining, but sitting at home now after this experience I truly felt compelled to write this review. As a local I am very upset with how Aliante handled this experience.. I am upset with the quality of the room for the price. Security should receive kudos because they were the nicest part of the trip even if just me showing them my key card.
I have to be honest, this will be my last stay at this hotel and I will tell friends and business colleagues to stray away from Aliante themselves or recommending to others for their poor customer service and quality...
