Perfect. First time, clean store. The saff were friendly, very fast and put forth that extra bit of care and effort that, in this case, made my dumb little day. I will elaborate, im a sugar fiend and my eyes immediately zoom in on various fried pies with ice cream immediately upon examining the menu....Ok so im all in, go for launch, were not hear to play....my child is an honor student. I make my, hate to say giddy but i make a giddily happy order to the pleasant waitress. Aaandd BAM! Life gets real, i fall off my cloud once the, really could not be more pleasant waitress, says "im so sorry young man..govment haven't allowed us a pie in a fortnight" 😂🙏Have a sense of humor..just dont be so serious and stay with me. Dejected i set back, replying "i guess ill just have a coke, thank you" and i let the world take me down just a notch...well i in a totally non immature way go to the restroom, which was clean as can be, to wash my hands as i had just came indoors from walking my dogs and finding some pretty sweet crystals which i off course dug out with my hands (yeah i tumble rocks and they turn out awesome, as you can tell i have some awesome past times/hobbies but BACK to the story and the reason why i will always come back to this place. I come back to the table and sure as you are still reading this APRICOT FRIED PIE🙏👏 My beautiful girl friend gives the equally beautiful news..that amazing waitress, whom i also had a great time getting to know...she went in the back and dug and found 1 pie🙏the small things in life are what matters and man i really needed life to back off one pie. Now of course please do not be as emotionally passionate/unbalanced as i so as to let the availability of pie have any significant control over your entire mood but like i said i really needed that and it honestly made me recalibrate and find humor in the way i have managed to find extreme gratitude and joy in things like fried pie but the reality in being so stressed out that a pie could have broke the camels back. Anyway please go, make at least one part of your day likely to bring chronic happiness...slow down...and have a piece of pie. A pie day keeps the sadsies away...put any other noun besides pie and notice the likelihood of the sadsies is almost certainly no more rational...
Read moreMy friend and I came here as it's one of her favorite places to eat catfish and I had never been here. It is located in the Indian Hills Shopping Center, which is anchored by a large Kroger at the far North end. Littlefield's is in a separate, free standing building closer to the south side. The decor is very simple, and also very clean. There was a stream of foot traffic coming in to eat the fish lunch special. The lunch catfish special is: 4 filets of catfish, mealed and deep fried, 2 hush puppies, Cole slaw, and it all arrives on a platter on top of the biggest pile of fries covering the bottom of the platter. At 5:00pm, they begin serving the supper Catfish Special. Which adds a cup of cooked pinto beans and a cup of green tomato pickles. My friend enjoyed her plate very much, leaving a few fries and a lonely hush puppy to be removed from the table. I was not so enthusiastic about my plate of fish 'n fries. The first 2 pieces of fish both had long layers of greasy fat running the length of the filet. That GOT trimmed off as soon as I found it. Belly fat left attached to the fish always taints the flavor of the fish. The other 2 filets were clean and free of fat. But the fish lacked flavor, as did the slaw, which was bland white, soupy, and no flavor-- no onions, garlic, black pepper, the bite of vinegar with a little sugar to tone it down. Lots of carrots for color would have added sweetness as well to the slaw. But it had nothing to hold my interest. Based on the raves of my friend, and her ordering a plate to go for her husband, I did the same. My husband's opinions of the food on his plate was no higher than mine. Our cats got the fish as I fed it to them. They enjoyed it thoroughly! Especially our oldest girl who hasn't lived inside long, so she is just now learning about the joy of people food! Maybe I just got part of a lousy batch of fish that day. Or I have been completely spoiled by Rhonda Pruitt's catfish slabs in Lonoke, that are seasoned to perfection in the corn meal dredging they get before frying! I really wanted to find us a nice little out of the way restaurant to eat 'home cookin'' at. I tried to like...
Read moreI really wanted to have a positive experience with Littlefields Cafe. I work nearby and thought it’d be a great idea to include them on a list of local spots we recommend to others. I called to ask for the manager so I could get some to-go menus and possibly build a friendly connection. Instead, I was met with someone yelling “oh my gosh” and then hanging up. I called back thinking maybe it was a mistake—only to be hung up on again.
Still hoping to give them the benefit of the doubt, I decided to drive over in person. Two women there were kind and apologized on behalf of the server, took my info, and told me the owner (a man, I was told) would be in touch. I appreciated that and left feeling hopeful.
But after days of not hearing anything, I went back to follow up. The same server who hung up on me was there again—and just as rude in person as she was on the phone. I asked to speak with the owner, and was brought to an older woman who, unfortunately, was just as dismissive. She said she hadn’t had time to contact me (which I totally understand), but when I brought up the way I was treated, she brushed it off and said they were probably too busy to deal with “all of that.” No accountability, no apology.
I wasn’t asking for anything huge—just some respect and professionalism. I walked in trying to support a local business, and left feeling really disrespected. This isn’t how I treat people, and I wasn’t expecting to be treated that...
