The Purple Cow Restaurant (North Little Rock) — Restaurant in North Little Rock

I’m originally from Arkansas but currently live in Oklahoma and purple cow is one of my child favorites. We are on a family road trip to Mississippi so we stopped so I could have my kiddos and spouse experience a piece of my childhood. We ordered the kids meal first and that came super fast. I order a turkey ham and bacon sandwich plain with a side of chips , but when it came out it had mayonnaise on it, the waitress explained she originally told the kitchen plain but they messed it up, by the time the food was corrected my spouse had finished his plate and my kids had eaten what they would from there’s. So we asked for a to go box right then. We loaded up the kids in the truck and realized we left the to go boxes on the table. My spouse went in to grab them and they told him they threw it away already. In the Togo boxes was a good portion of a kids chicken strip meal and majority of the fries and in the other was my entire meal minus a bite of the sand which and all my side of chips. They said they would only remake my order. They didn’t even give me chips just remade the sandwich. And the only reason the meal had to be to go IN THE FIRST PLACE was because it was initially made incorrectly and took to long to remake. So I paid $50 and tipped 20% to not even have half the food that I paid for because they trashed it. Let me add insult to injury I’m also 7 months pregnant and currently do not play about my food. I love Purple Cow, don’t get me wrong. We’ve eaten there for years and loved both locations and always loved the food. But, this past Sunday we had a pretty terrible experience with them. We got out of church around 8 and wanted to go eat somewhere, so we thought of Purple Cow cause the food is good and it’s fairly quick. They didn’t close til 9, so we headed over there. My in-laws were the first ones in and they got there around 8:10. No one would speak to them to seat them. We got there around 8:20 and finally my father in law went up to the bar area to ask about being seated. The waitress came back and said “we are so backed up in the kitchen that by the time we got that food out and your orders in we would be way past our closing time so I’m sorry but we can’t seat you.” This wasn’t true because we could see the 3 tables presently in the restaurant had their food already. Now, I understand the frustration because I myself have waited tables. But, I also think if you want to leave at 8:30, you should close at 8. Don’t advertise to close at 9 and shut down at 8:30. Yes it’s inconvenient to stay later, but you are losing business that I’m assuming in this economy your business owner probably wants and you lost good tips, that apparently don’t matter. So come I on a Sunday afternoon, and I’m visiting out of town so I’m intrigued to try the place giving that it’s been mentioned and pretty good reviews. Sadly I am disappointed, the service was good and the food was delivered quickly.. in fact I order pickle speared and it came out in a matter of minutes and by the time I ordered the app I placed my order for my main food. I was even asked if I wanted the speared pickles first and I said yes. App comes out and I was greatly disappointed given that it’s fried pickles it was very soggy and falling apart, not even 2-3 mins later my main food comes out. Which I wasn’t really upset cause I couldn’t enjoy the app as much so I was looking for my Mushroom Swiss burger, and yet again I was met with disappointment. The burger was cold and my cheese wasn’t even melted but the fries were pretty good. Now I order the premium burger so I was expecting some hot and delicious and got the opposite.. at this point I’ve could’ve said something(my fault for not) but just ate the burger giving my schedule and I was hungry. Service was good and my food came out in a timely manner, but the Quality of the food was below average in fact I’m sure I could of gotten a more tasty burger at chili’s for the same price or cheaper.
