Haitian food is a cuisine that not everyone in other states have ever tried because it's mostly predominately in Florida. This is probably my second time experiencing it at Griot 305 and I can attest that with all the competitors that are in the field in Miami Griot 305 stands out beyond leaps and bounds, & heres why: They have a credit card machine which most Haitian restaurants dont have; the interior is kept cozy and the natural light that enters the room is pleasant; the cleanliness of the staff and attention to detail is superb; there is a wheelchair access ramp and parking; cold a.c.; drinks, beer, & wine coolers; and their prices are VERY reasonable; the food is delicious & the chef that they have in the kitchen is a professional. Overall, my experience has been positive, & in both my visits the food has never had a mawkish flavor. Its a privilege to be the first to review (I'm always hesitant to review only until a second, or third visit). My greetings to the owners for making me feel welcomed for a second time. Keep up the great work & congratulations on having your own restaurant. I will be coming back more often. Highly...
Read moreHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THE OWNER IS A BIT ARROGANT. FOR SOMEONE WHO JUST OPENED A BUSINESS, I BELIEVE IN BEING HUMBLE. THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME $13.00 FOR 6 PIECE OF SMALL OXTAILS WITH LITTLE TO NO MEAT ON THEM, I REFUSED TO PAY FOR IT. INSTEAD OF THE OWNER SAYING HEY LET ME PUT MORE OR HOW CAN I FIX THE SITUATION, HE PROCEEDS TO SAY THAT HE IS SERVING "QUALITY FOOD". THE TASSOT AND THE GRIOT WERE NOT THAT GOOD. AND THE AMOUNT OF FOOD GIVEN FOR THE PRICE IS RIDICULOUS. THE GRIOT IS $9.00 AND THE PICTURE BELOW SHOWS HOW GRIOT WAS GIVEN FOR THE PRICE, GRIOT IS CHEAP , IT'S LIKE 0.99CENTS A POUND FOR PORK SHOULDER IN THE MEAT STORE, SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SO LITTLE GRIOT. THE TASSOT WAS $15.00 AND THE PICTURE BELOW SHOW HOW MUCH FOOD WAS GIVEN. ANOTHER HAITIANS IN GENERAL DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CRITIC. THIS IS WHY I RATHER GO TO A CAUCASIAN OWNED RESTAURANT THAN TO SUPPORT PEOPLE WITHIN MY CULTURE! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN GRIOT305 EVEN IF IT WAS THE LAST...
Read moreThis is not your typical Caribbean restaurant... the customer service is excellent and friendly. The restaurant is clean, bathroom is clean (which is very important). Service with a smile makes me feel welcome even if I don't speak Haitian creole. All the servers speak English so there is no miscommunication. The chef Kerline came out to say "hi" and make sure I enjoyed the food. I was also shocked to see a Haitian restaurant that put crab legs in there legume. That was an amazing surprise to me. Usually you only get that when you are at a good friends house that's Haitian and they really like you. LOL. I also feel comfortable eating here, it has a legit seating area with Big Screen T.V's inside and outside. They may need more parking in the future, this place is going to be...
