Adapt gym is unlike any other I've frequented. The owners repurposed a massive warehouse into this YMCA-esk athletic mecca, with a panoply of options for movement and recovery. Take the tour and you'll be escorted through a labyrinth of indoor courts, spa suites, dance and martial arts studios, and offices for therapeutic treatments. If you're an aquaphile, however, don't hold your breath - a pool is the one amenity you will not find here (unless you count the cold-plunge tank).
The exercise floor can accommodate both the conventional weight-lifter and the functional-movement types. There's a modest but high-end selection of machines and equipment, as well some 50 yards of turf for you sled-pushing and HIIT circuit nut jobs out there ;) Behind that is a TRX suspension wall alongside several racks full of exercise toys (bands, blocks, medicine balls, rollers, risers, kettle bells, etc). Everyday is an array of group classes, some of which are semi-private (6 slots). Upfront you'll find a fridge of reasonably-priced energy drinks and protein bars for post-workout refuel. The showers feel rather luxurious for a gym and reliably clean. And most importantly to me, the staff are generally very kind and familial - most remembered me by name after our first encounter and are more than willing to assist me when asked.
Like any gym, however, there are indeed a few glaring drawbacks. For one thing, the main floor is not air-conditioned, and despite an impressive five-story loft, the summers will likely feel pretty toasty. Memberships do not include a guest-pass, so don't invite your friends to tag-along unless they consent to either a pricey $30 drop-in or a commitment to their free 3-day trial. There is a hefty $150+ enrollment fee w/ a min. 6mo contract as well, although it does include several 30min consults with training staff. Finally, there's no late-night access for you night-owls, and weekend hours are pretty limited (8am-2pm).
Overall, I highly recommend checking this place out. If you've got the money and motivation, this could easily become your one-stop shop for physical transformation and recreation. If you're the casual American gym-goer, however, and price + flexibility are your top priorities,...
Read moreADAPT Recharge revitalized my life. Back in July 2023, I underwent surgery to mend a spiral fracture in my left fibula, which now houses a plate and seven screws. My journey to recovery wouldn't have been possible without the expertise and encouragement of Dr. Will. In August, my husband and I relocated to North Miami, where we discovered ADAPT—a perfect fit for our lifestyle.
The facility seamlessly accommodated both our needs. While my husband utilized their workspace for remote work and their gym for workouts, I focused on my physical therapy. Dr. Will took the time to understand my goals, crafting tailored plans that paved the way for my return to an active lifestyle. By October 2023, I achieved a significant milestone—hiking Utah's Mighty 5.
Stepping into ADAPT feels like entering a community of warmth and genuine enthusiasm. The friendly faces that greet us (shoutout to Kaitlyn and Gianfranco) each time reflect a supportive environment. Having completed my physical therapy, I am now an active member, engaging in personal training with Mikayla and participating in weekly group fitness classes with Marcus, Ben, Scooby, Jose, and Nat.
A heartfelt shoutout to the entire ADAPT team for treating us like family, and consistently cheering us on in...
Read moreI first went to a few classes at Adapt through an app. I had been to a lot of different classes and gyms in Miami and found many of them to be sceney, clique-ish and a place I had to get ready for beyond an outfit change. Not only was the instructor and the class great, the entire staff, members and physical space were so welcoming. I used all my credits at Adapt and took advantage of their 28 Challenge to try it out as my main gym. I had such a great experience with all of their classes and took class with a majority of their trainers and everyone is incredible. The attention to detail, the modifications and motivation really sets Adapt's trainers apart from other gyms. The space in the gym allows you to take class or do your thing, great sauna & cold plunge set-up, not to mention massage therapy and stretching services.
My only note is the old school water fountain. Super refreshing but filling up my water bottle is always a geometry equation.
Adapt is a great vibe with people of all ages, abilities and attitudes smiling and sweating amongst professionals who are engaged and eager to see you do your best....
