Good Life on the Bricks — Restaurant in North Platte

Was really excited to try this place as it has gotten a lot of good reviews. We came in (Friday night) before 7 and got seated right away. We ordered 10 minutes later. Our waitress was so polite and nice🙄 Unfortunately we waited an hour and 20 mins for our food😣! I asked our sever twice when/how long it would take for our food and she was nothing but amazing and apologetic for the wait time. It's a popular place on a Friday night,but still it was a long time. We did wait for our food and it was ok but we were a bit disappointed in the flavor. The mac'n cheese was good but the pulled pork and bbq sauce is what really brought the flavor. My son's burger was really just a regular burger,he got the universal burger. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was ok but again the flavor wasn't there for me. My kids, in elementary school did like their brisket they got and I tried it and it was good! Their mash potatos have garlic in them so my kids didnt care for them and they dont have french fries but kettle cooked chips.So if we go again I think we will stick to the meats/bbq stuff they have and either order way ahead of time or not come in on...

There are so many ups and downs to this place. Ordered the sausage pizza. The gluten free pizza crust was delicious, however there was a very conservative amount of sausage. It averaged about two pieces per slice. The smokehouse macaroni and cheese was the driest restaurant macaroni and cheese I have ever seen. Ordered the avocado pulled pork nachos as an appetizer, I mentioned this after I discuss the meal, as it was brought out after we were brought out our meal. There was hardly enough avocado and cheese to call them avocado pulled pork nachos... but the pulled pork was very tasty. The burger was flavorful. The wait staff an absolute delight, polite and attentive. When I think of the “Good Life” I think of bounties of good comfort food. They are a little light on all the comforts. I would have given 3.5 stars but it has to whole stars and they are just not there yet. Like I said ups and downs. I may try it again because there left some room for improvement and I would love the to see if they can live up...

Disappointed. Took more than an hour after ordering to get our food. In total we were at our table for approximately 1:45. Unacceptable for a lunch service. My hamburger was good, though the “kettle chips” side was no more than broken Walmart brand kettle chips. My little girl ordered the child Mac and cheese which basically amounted to a side dish with Walmart brand fruit snacks. To be fair, they do offer other sides. My wife ordered BBQ chicken but we’ were informed by the waiter an hour after we ordered that they were out. She then chose the sausage which she said was just ok, but has had better at Dickey’s. Our bill with tip was $60 for 3 adults and one child. All of us felt the food was a pricy for what we received.

Our server was nice and apologetic which we appreciated and my hamburger with the jalapeño cream cheese was good. Would I go again? Possibly if I had two hours to spare, but this restaurant needs to figure out their “growing pains” before I would ever recommend it...
