4.5 stars. This place was recommended by the gentleman in the Fairbanks visitors center. He said, " it's the best food in Fairbanks". And he was absolutely right! It is a gorgeous restaurant. Very intricate decor, dim lighting, has a chinese new year feel to it. Menu is decently varied. Unfortunately their lunch specials are only Mon- Sat so we didn't get the discount. We got dinner special combo 1 (mongolian beef, pork fried rice, egg roll and soup of the day - hot and sour) and the seafood combo with garlic sauce. Because we wanted spicy, they also provided a thai chilli sauce since the server didn't think the chilli sauce on the table would be spicy enough (and she was right!). Food was very very good! The mongolian beef with fried rice was mouthwatering. So so delicious!! The egg roll was good but not the best. The seafood combo was tasty and made better with the thai chilli sauce. And that hot and sour soup was also out of the world. I'm picky about chinese food so to find this place in North Pole Alaska, is fascinating and fantastic!! Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for food.

Picked up takeout for a birthday. Ordered a ribeye, cashew shrimp, order of crab Rangoon, and 4 egg rolls. Ordered the ribeye medium rare. As you can see from the pictures it's medium rare. I drove from fairbanks out to NP back to fairbanks for this meal. Everything was fine except for the steak. When I first touched it, it felt tough. I cut into it and you can clearly see it doesn't have any of the marbling of a ribeye. Some of the meat even looks gray. I kept cutting into it and it looks nothing like a ribeye. I've ordered the same ribeye from this same place plenty over other times and whatever was cooked for me wasn't a ribeye. So naturally this being a birthday meal I reached out to pagoda via messenger. Their response was less than, not what I was expecting. I felt like they thought I was lying but what am I gaining from this? This was supposed to be a birthday meal. And I was served a cut of meat that looks identical to top sirloin. All they did was take a picture of their menu next to a box. We won't be going back.

We went to Santa Claus house in North Pole, and this place is just walking distance from there. This place is highly recommended and it did not disappoint. They have big servings, and we are able to take it out. Good thing our cabin has a microwave to heat the food the following day. They recommend to us the Mongolian beef and the General Tso's chicken. Both taste great! We came by late afternoon at about 4:30 PM, and by the time we left the place, it had already started to get filled. The decor is impressive and is very much Chinese inspired from the entrance to the layout of the tables. The hot tea that is already placed in the table upon seated is a great welcome from the below freezing temp outside! And the tea tastes good as well.. one of the best brewed tea I've had! I forgot to ask, but it is likey to be an oolong and/or rooibos tea.

Oh my goodness, this place smells fantastic the second I opened the door. It was also super clean, even the decor and kitchen floor were practically spotless. I got take out. The edamame wasn't salted but was nicely cooked. The walnut shrimp, one of their most popular dishes, was well cooked. I enjoyed it, though not as much as other dishes. For me, it was too sweet for savory but not sweet enough to be a sweet dish. The surprise star for this order was the crispy squid. The breading was crispy, not oily which means the fry oil was the correct temperature and they didn't overload the fryer. The squid was sliced steaks, not rings, and was tender as could be. It can be difficult to cook squid without making it chewy. Some people don't even know it shouldn't be chewy. These guys nailed it. Can't wait to try more of their menu.

Pagoda is consistent with good quality and quantity at a reasonable price. Remember this is interior Alaska and inflation is running high. I have tried their personal dinner combinations, family dinner combinations, a whole duck, and eggplant chicken. The food is mostly flavorful. Mongolian beef at times feel a bit dry. The sweet and sour sauce is a bit too sweet. The egg rolls are truly excellent. Roasted pork comes in big and thick slices. Hot and sour soup is full of ingredients and taste. I love the duck but it just feels like it is not a whole duck or may be just a small whole duck!!! The duck is well seasoned and fried so has a particular kick to it. The rice is very so-so, not good traditional Chinese rice and too dry. Still, definitely my go-to place around Fairbanks.

I have traveled all over the world, and been fairly well experienced with food...this was probably the best Chinese food that I have eaten. Amazing atmosphere with tons of authentic Chinese art, friendly waitress and waiter, quality food and water. I would recommend that they get stronger toothpicks. 10/10 recommend if you're in the Fairbanks area.
