My friends and I have been meeting here every Friday morning for years and unfortunately have seen a gradual decline in service and customer volume. Everyone has a bad day now and then , but it has been increasingly systemic here for a long time, with today being the worst yet. There was no pre-open prep person today and the first employee didn’t arrive until 5 minutes after open time. We were let in 8 minutes after open and first in line to order. The pastries cabinet was empty. We normally order drip coffee, but as coffee hadn’t even started brewing yet we ordered Americanos so that we wouldn’t have to wait for them to brew an urn of drip coffee. There were 7 other people in line behind our group who ordered after us before the now 2 employees started prep work. They must have stacked the order tickets first order on bottom, and so on, and then worked the stack backwards from top to bottom because most of the people who ordered after us were served before us. The first person from our group finally served their Americano at 23 minutes after open time, the last person from our group received their Americano at 27 minutes after open and then waited an additional four minutes for cream because of course the pre-open prep work was still not completed and the cream was not put out. This place used to open at 5 AM and have a line out the door at 5:01 AM. Since Covid, they have opened at 6 AM and due to the gradual but continuous decline in service, the early crowd has slowly dwindled to just our group and a couple of others. With today’s dismal service, I believe our group will finally move on, as so may others already have, and find a competitor’s coffee shop...
Read moreI was so excited when I walked in and saw the bright green Diedrich directly to my right. The bar at this moment was set a little higher, then as my gaze moved across the counter. I saw 2 nuova simonelli espresso machines which are not crazy high end, but still Italian. So at this point I'm excited. I asked the person taking orders for a traditional macchiato. They said sure one carmel macchiato. I replied "no like a Italian or caffé Macchiato with 2oz of espresso and 2oz of milk." They then asked someone close by whom was counting money "what is a Macchiato?" The money counter said "just ring up a Cortado" Which is not the same thing but at this moment I say "yeah sure that will work" now I am preparing myself for the coffee. I am also really excited to try their espresso since they roast it themselves, I am stoked. The barista finishes my coffee in an 8-10oz to go cup and hands it to me. It is all the way full. I am pretty bummed at this point. I came in excited for one drink, then settled for another, then got a drink completely backwards from what I ordered. The latte, was not very interesting only slightly better than one from Starbucks. The espresso could hardly be tasted, but who knows there might be gold under all that dairy. I however am not hopeful. I left this shop pretty sad and disappointed. If you do go I recommend sticking to something easy like cold brew. Amazing things happen to coffee when it is refrigerated for 24 hrs. I haven't had theirs, and don't really plan to. Maybe one day they...
Read moreIf you're looking for a delicious and unique coffee drink, you have to try the Cubana at this local coffee shop. I've been a regular here for a while now, and I always make sure to order this drink whenever I'm in the mood for something a little bit different.
The Cubana is made with espresso, steamed milk, and a touch of sweetened condensed milk. The condensed milk adds a creamy sweetness that perfectly balances out the rich espresso. The drink is finished off with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top, which gives it a warm and comforting aroma.
What I love about the Cubana is that it's not too sweet or too strong - it's just the perfect balance of flavors. The espresso is bold enough to give you that caffeine kick you need, but the sweetness of the condensed milk keeps it from being overpowering. The steamed milk also adds a nice creaminess to the drink, making it feel like a treat without being too heavy.
The atmosphere of the coffee shop is cozy and inviting, with plenty of seating options and friendly staff. Whether you're looking to catch up with a friend over coffee or need a quiet spot to work, this is the perfect spot.
Overall, I highly recommend the Cubana at this local coffee shop. It's a delicious and unique drink that you won't find anywhere else, and the cozy atmosphere of the shop makes it the perfect...
