We received the most rude treatment tonight. When looking up your hours (which you obviously don't have updated across all platforms, seeing as Google tells us you're open until 9pm and Apple tells us you're open until 10pm), we saw we still had time to make it up for ice cream tonight for the family. We were under the impression, due to lack of updates, that you closed at 10pm (as shown below). The info can not be seen on your Facebook and is nowhere to be found on the main place it should be, your website! Disregarding the fact that we thought you were open until 10pm, we stepped up to the front window with a few minutes to spare. There was a woman in front of us, so, as she finished up her order, we were standing there for a solid minute or two checking out the menu. IMMEDIATELY as the woman stepped away, the employee snatched the tip box from the front, closed the window, locked it, and PULLED THE BLINDS ON US! She completely shut down shop directly at 9pm while we were still standing in line AND while there were still people in the drive-thru and all around us waiting for orders from the other window without so much as a word to us. Absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't even be as furious if she would've simply said that they had to stop serving the front right at 9pm or something. But she paid no attention to the fact that we were even standing there. Once again, I recognize that, disregarding the issue of the lack of communication of hours, we were there very close to closing time. However, pulling the blinds on someone without saying a word after they had been standing there for a few minutes before that closing hour hit is just disrespectful. Previous owners would've never allowed for something like that to happen, and even previous teenage employees, unlike this adult woman, wouldn't have treated a customer like they were invisible. I've been on the fence about this place since we've had other bad experiences, specifically with the adult employees being rude and all over the place. The teens and young adults are usually just fine. But this is the first time that this place has been so bad that it's wasted gas money and not even resulted in actually getting ice cream. There are plenty of more consistent places around Ridgeville I'll be...
Read morefull disclosure, our cousins own the place.
that said, stopped in today to have the much lauded Sweet Corn soft serve. i didn't know what to expect, and still don't really know how to describe it, but it was great. it's not what you'd expect. sweet but less sweet than you are probably thinking. it's got a nice hint of that earthiness of corn that is normally hidden behind butter and salt. Jay says he expects it to sell out by Tuesday otherwise i'd head back for more. oh wait, i have a pint... don't need to. hahaha.
Danielle wanted a strawberry crunch bar but they sold out so Jay made her a "sundae" w/ the similar topping made by a local bakery and of you've always wondered why they call those strawberry crunch and they aren't really crunchy in the least, go get their home-made version. super crunchy with the same taste.
haven't had anything yet that hasn't...
Read moreI can appreciate the place for what it is, a city staple and landmark... But this place is past it's prime. A lot of families have a lot of nostalgia for this place, and I respect that.
All of the items, the soft, hard, whips etc have a weird after taste. Something similar to drinking from a weird water fountain. It makes it hard to enjoy.
Their flavor offerings have a nice variety, but they really miss the mark.
With places like Mitchell's, and the dairy treat near by, there really is no reason to go here except for convenience.
The prices are not great, and the items do not deliver.
And unfortunately if there are any people here, you can expect to wait a very long time, watching a lot of other people get their ice cream, and standing around awkwardly not knowing if your order was missed, or is just taking longer than everyone who...
