Newlyweds Deeply Disappointed — Proceed With Caution
I rarely leave reviews, but what happened here needs to be shared. My husband and I hired In The Weeds for our August wedding florals. The florist we worked with was thoughtful, creative, and clearly cared about getting every detail right. She did an absolutely fantastic job! When she showed me my bouquet, I cried because it came out so good. It was everything I imagined and then some! Many of our guests commented on how beautiful everything was. Unfortunately, during the lead-up to our wedding, the business changed ownership and things went downhill fast. Just days after our wedding, we learned the florist had been abruptly fired by the new owner, reportedly for "causing problems" after raising serious concerns about harassment and mistreatment in the workplace. Multiple staff members quit in solidarity, which says a lot.
What directly affected us: The florist was in the middle of coordinating the return of our floral pieces and sentimental items (like my bouquet, which I had planned to preserve) when she was forced out. The new owner refused to let her finish. As a result, my bouquet and the bridesmaids’ bouquets ($325 worth of flowers) were either thrown out, sold, or lost. Our centerpiece candles were ruined, covered in spilled oil. What little was returned to us felt like an afterthought. When we tried to speak with the new owner to retrieve our belongings, he immediately began ranting about the florist — pulling us into his internal drama rather than taking any accountability or focusing on giving us our property back. He then went somewhere else and had a young waitress help us instead, as if he was avoiding the situation. It was deeply unprofessional and uncomfortable. We do not see this business lasting much longer if this is how he's going to treat his employees and handle his business!
The flowers were beautiful, and that's a credit to the team before the ownership change. But the way things were handled after was unacceptable—not just as a customer experience, but from a basic human decency standpoint. To anyone considering working with this business: Think twice. And if you care about the women in your life, you may want to steer them elsewhere—for both employment and events. The environment under the current ownership is not one I would ever trust again. We will also never eat there again.
The florist offered to remake my bouquet for free, though I don't think we will be taking her up on that offer at this point. She is so talented and deserves more business! She is working to build her own floral company. I would definitely use her again and will always recommend her to anyone in need of florals! I will eventually be leaving reviews for her on wedding platforms and will include pictures of her work once I receive them from our photographer. She will also receive these photos to use for her portfolio if she chooses.
Sincerely,...

Read moreI came in with high hopes, a healthy appetite, and a linen blouse that said, “I brunch with purpose.” I left $60 poorer, emotionally confused, and spiritually betrayed by a wedge salad.
Let’s walk through the crime scene:
Wedge Salad ($14) – Iceberg, blue cheese, and despair. It had the emotional depth of a text from your ex that just says “k.” Chicken Piccata ($25) – I suspect the lemon caper sauce was just a distant memory whispered over a microwaved chicken breast. This bird died twice. Bread Pudding ($9) – Texture of packing foam, flavor of last-minute church potluck. Key Lime Pie ($9) – A greenish wedge of sadness, like if Jell-O and regret had a baby.
Now, I don’t mind paying a premium for a great meal—I love to eat pretentious farm-to-table nonsense. But this wasn’t that. This was Stouffer’s on a vision quest.
The space is adorable. There’s a florist inside. It smells like eucalyptus and hope. I was ready to be enchanted. But alas, no amount of fiddle-leaf figs can distract from food that feels like it was prepped by a sad raccoon wearing an apron ironically.
I hate to knock a small business, I really do. But I also hate wasting money. And taste buds. So I’m mourning this meal like a lost pet. I hope they turn it around. I really do. But I won’t be back. Not unless I lose a bet or...
