When I say this is the #1 best authentic Mexican food spot in Indiana, itās honestly an understatement. š®š„ The food is incredibly good. I even call Maria my Mexican grandmaāthatās how much I love this place. ā¤ļøšµš½
Everything Maria cooks is picked fresh daily š„¬š , and you can taste every single ingredient. The flavors are so vibrant that each bite feels like a celebration. š She even let me try a dish she made just for herselfānot even on the menuāwith some sweet potato fries. š š„ I donāt usually like sweet potatoes, but this was so good it actually inspired me to try making my own! š¤Æ
Now, about these tostadas⦠𤤠One bite and I immediately regretted not ordering more. They were that good. 𤩠This place is hands down the most underrated authentic Mexican food spot. š²š½ If you donāt believe me, just go try it yourself. Iām confident youāll feel exactly the same way I do.
Iāve been to thousands of taco and burrito spots, but this one? #1, without a doubt. ššÆ Thank you so much, Maria. We are beyond grateful for you and the amazing food you bring. šš Your family must feel so lucky to enjoy your cooking all the time. Honestly, I wish I could have you at homeāit would feel like being at my grandmaās house every day. š”⨠And while my grandma could cook, Maria, your cooking is on another level. š„
Thank you so much, and please, keep up the amazing work. We truly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou know those restaurants where you can go in and get treated like family? That is Mariaās Buena Cocina, every time. You will never be disappointed. Maria herself comes from the heart of Mexico, from a mother who really knew how to cook. Iām originally from Texas, and I know amazing Mexican food. Order the potato tacos. You wonāt be disappointed. Her homemade molĆ© is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Their Mexican rice and refried beans are unmatched. Their guacamole is enough to turn around even the worst day, and I dream about the complimentary salsa they provide every night! Every food touched by this good-hearted, authentic Mexican couple who owns the place turns to pure gold, and I canāt imagine anyone walking out dissatisfied.
For many years, we frequented Maria and Nachoās older franchise, and it couldnāt be more fitting that they now have a place of their own. I personally donāt think they charge enough for the quality of their food. They are a true family business that Chicagoland is incredibly fortunate to have. I wouldnāt wait another day, even another moment if you havenāt yet experienced Mariaās Buena Cocina....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery small comfortable well decorated spot. Everything was very fresh. From the hibiscus tea to the steak tacos. The first few bites of the warm chips and salsa left a burst of fresh homemade flavors. The meat on the steak tacos was very tender, juicy and seasoned well. Didn't even need the hot sauce. But along with other reviewers I have to agree. Probably the best rice and beans I've ever had. It was a perfect touch to the lunch. The service was perfect. Definitely recommend.
Ps. Not sure why I was given Lemons with my tacos but aside from that perfect experience.
Update: Went back again with my wife and ordered the Costillas En Salsa Verde. Let me say hands down this was the best salsa verde I ever had. Ribs were juicy fall off of the bone. The recipe for the salsa verde was just like her mother used to make. Believe me when I say the homemade with love...
