I have been to Sip many times, occasionally dining in but usually just getting coffee and maybe soup to go. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. My mom used to love the French onion soup and I myself wait for the potato or some kind of chx soup (forget what exactly but it was delicious!).
I always enjoy trying the diff combinations of coffee flavors but the prices can be kind of high. To simplify they just need be listed on the signboards. I asked if they were lattes and if so could they be made as iced coffees bc that's usually cheaper. They said they could.
Imagine by surprise when my bill was $14 something for a cup of soup and a coffee. So I pay it, look at the receipt, notice it was $5.85 PLUS 95 CENTS for cream!
I asked the server, explained I got it bc iced coffee is supposed to be cheaper. She said it's a specialty coffee. Ok, I'm not one to make a big deal out of things but almost $6 AND another (almost) dollar for cream?!
She had started it so I didn't say anything, only asked if I should just order an iced coffee and a flavor or two next time. I was expecting $3 or $4 not $6 IN ADDITION TO cream!
No, it's not that $2-3 is a lot in general but $6 or $7 is TOO MUCH for a 20 ounce drink! Merely list the prices, say it's extra for cream, etc. This way everyone is on the same page, we know before we order, what we order and we can all continue to do as we should and support local businesses.
Thank you! Hi, just adding this: yes, I ordered the Matcha. Yes, I know that's green tea. My bad, I did reference it as iced coffee. Ok, that's wrong and I get that that might be a different price point than actual coffee, but again, $6, and $1 extra for adding cream? Of course I could have asked the price but I hate to ask how much everything costs, esp if it's multiple items. Like I say, it should just be on the sign.
Thx for reaching out. I'm adding this here bc I'm not sure what u were asking. Go to FB and ??? Pls note that I didn't have a bad experience and definitely will return. I guess I just have to ask...
Read moreI've been going to the Sip at the Highland location for several years. I love the food, the coffee is excellent, and the atmosphere is great! The service is usually wonderful...Except for today...
I went to the Highland Sip with my friend today. Upon walking in, we asked if we should order at the counter, and were told to go ahead and take a sit, and someone will be with us shortly. We picked up a couple of menus, sat down, and waited for roughly about 15 to 20 minutes, with no one coming up to us. The place wasn't that busy for being after 5pm, with a couple groups of people gaming at a couple of tables near us. A few servers walking around, noticed us, but never came up to us, nor acknowledged us. We noticed other customers that walked in after us being served, so when my friend got up to ask the employee at the counter if someone will take our order soon, we were then told that orders are being taken at the counter, since there was one server...?
This wasn't mentioned to us upon arrival, and we were first told to have a seat, and someone will be with us... So... Why not tell us upon arrival that you're short staff, and taking orders at the counter, instead of telling us to have a seat...? We unfortunately ended up leaving, and while walking back to the car, we noticed other employees standing around outside, along with one of the servers that we have seen walking around inside the building several times.
I'm disappointed with this experience, since we had never had this type of experience before. Generally the service is beyond wonderful, even when it's...
Read moreNormally have a great time here. Had a call in order and the woman on the phone was very nice. When I went inside was another story. The line was very long which is fine but I had already placed an order, my food had been handed to me and the coffee was in front of me, but I stated I still needed to pay. Due to this, I went up to the register and asked the the male cashier if I could pay really fast since my order was finished. The male cashier avoid eye contact with me and simply said nothing. Instead of having a pick up check out or simply responding to me VERBALLY that I needed to wait, I was pointed to the back of the line with nothing else. The male cashier then disregarded me again when I asked to pay again, simply turned around. When I finally got to the front after waiting, the same cashier didn’t say anything to me, had no idea where my order was despite it being literally in front of him. Then he had the nerve to give me an attitude when he had to restart the transaction since he literally was not speaking to me, only asked my name and the immediately turned around to make other things while talking to his coworker. To top it all off, since I had to wait and my food and drinks were already finished, the food was cold and the drinks were watery and the hot drink cold. Brilliant. Again I understand this is a small business but surely this is a simple fix and I’ve had amazing service here before so I’m incredibly...
