Unfortunately, Google does not give you a chance to respond after a business responds to your post, so I had to rewrite it, but my original and their response is in the pictures. I’ll give you the short version. Basically I went in on a weekday (Wednesday October 23 2024, 3:30 pm) amd was informed they were out of subs. 80% of their menu is subs, so I don’t really know what they planned on selling for the next 3 1/2 to 4 hours (They close at 7:00) Maybe hopes and dreams? As you can see through their response, they certainly don’t like criticism or to take ownership for their clear INCOMPETENCE and mismanagement of a restaurant. Another thing that bothers me and I find a little grotesque is the fact they said they were out of subs completely. Which means these subs are not made fresh (Like the place that stood in that same spot for years, yes Hammond people know) I also mentioned the fact, with those kind of business practices, they would be closed by the beginning of the year, meaning exactly the way I wrote it, that come January, their doors would be closed if they kept up those practices. They responded, saying they’ve been there almost two years. I almost found that comical, that they think two years is a pillar of the community. (Look at the place across the street Grub Stop that’s a true pillar and a real name in Hammond) The best part about their response is when they wished me a blessed day, but I have to be honest I don’t think they were being...
Read moreIt seems that every now and then, you find a gem under stressful circumstances. In this case, it was hunger. LOL! We didn’t want the usual fast food, and I’d rather starve than to patronize some places. The Grub Stop has a little of everything to satisfy your palate- burgers, subs, gyros, brisket, shakes, fries, loaded fries, etc. Fellas, if you have a woman in your life that has no clue what she wants to eat, on a regular basis, bring her here. If she doesn’t want anything from here, then you’re in trouble. LOL! I haven’t tried everything, but the service, and the food are definitely worth coming back for. I do recommend the CherryLada slush though. It is delicious! Be careful though, because if you drink it too fast, you’ll get an unbelievable amount of brain freeze. Yes, it’s that good.
Update: Try the Chicago Style gym shoe sandwich. The smallest size is a large, and it’s HUGE! Fair warning, it’s juicy and sloppy delicious. This is not a sandwich that you can eat in your car. You need to cut it in half, use napkins, or a handkerchief, and enjoy it. If you’re at lunch, you’re not going to want to go back to...
Read moreThe chicken tenders were sooooo hard. My daughter couldn’t eat them. I thought I’d try it, even though I felt how hard it was. No way, I couldn’t bite it. We were knocking on the table with the tenders. The ribs were hard, the Philly cheesesteak was dry. I paid extra for extra cheese but there was no extra cheese. The Turkey sub was good. The fries were so greasy and overcooked. I don’t know what happened today but out meals were horrible. The previous 3 time we went , it was great. I spent almost $70 for nothing today. A big waste!!! I can’t believe this. We’re never going back. So much money wasted and we couldn’t eat our meals. My oldest daughter were able to enjoy her sandwich but everything else was horrible. The Oreo shake had no Oreos. It is only...
