I have passed by here any number of times, today was the day I decided to stop. This little restaurant is elegant inside and plays lovely Indian music. The portions are huge, so be prepared to take leftovers. The vegetable biryani was absolutely wonderful. It was well spiced and aromatic. It came with the exact heat I had asked for. The vegetables were fresh and seasonal, not like other places where they’re cooked to death. The papadam was exceptional And the condiments for the entire meal were fresh and had not been sitting around. The ras milai was out of the world. all of this was exceptional, but the tour force was that the masala tea was perfect. There were no spices or grounds in the bottom of the cup, and the flavor was consistent throughout. The server was kind and helpful and the service was quick. If you’re looking for a quaint spot to come, have lunch or dinner, this is the place. Go out of your way to come to this restaurant. I will be back...
Read moreSeeing all the glowing reviews, I was excited to try this place out. I ordered the house biryani with medium heat for carryout. Unfortunately, I just found it to be very bland and the meat in it was a little dried out. I will say the portions were very good for the amount of money and the ratio of meat to rice was good. The spice level was barely noticeable, but I imagine that's easily fixed by just ordering it hot or very hot going forward. I will say the staff was great and friendly and the customers seemed to be enjoying the food, while I waited for my order to be ready. I will not I ordered online on their website, and arrived 20 minutes after I ordered to find out they had issues and the order didn't get pushed through correctly. The staff did jump on getting my order through when I got there and seeing the issue that occurred. I'll try another dish before giving up on this place, but I can't recommend...
Read moreAMAZING! Blown away at this place. Exactly what York needed. The owners are extremely kind and helpful. I accidentally put my order in for the next day instead of that evening. They called to make sure if that was correct. I wouldn’t have had dinner that night had they not 😂. Food was ready in less than 30 minutes and when I arrived the owner even opened the door for me. The food is to DIE for. Absolute perfection. Best chicken tikka masala ever (with different spice options too!). Also, if you’ve never had a mango lassi it’s like a drinkable mango gogurt (yes the drinkable kids yogurts!) I don’t leave too many reviews but I just HAD to let everyone know that this is a must try and probably your new favorite restaurant. The restaurants in this location after it was Brenda’s subs always seemed to be duds, but Taste of India I think is...
