My wife and I have been dining here annually for 7 years. It’s our go-to fancy dinner date restaurant. That is, because every single time we dine, we enjoy the most delicious meals we have eaten in a while. Haven’t gone out for quite a few months and wanted to celebrate some successes, so we stopped in for our little fancy date. Waitress was kind, but slightly obnoxious given the more upscale vibes in the establishment. But nonetheless very kind. Onto the meal, my wife with the blackened tips and scallops and myself with the pecan crusted cod. The cod was exactly as described, an extremely dry, coated, piece of fish with zero flavor, on a bed of sour tasting sautéed greens, and dry, crispy potatoes reminiscent of some home fries at your local breakfast joint. I asked to add on a side of the cheesy potato cakes, which were listed as an optional side for $2, expecting to pay slightly more than that since I did not swap out either of my sides. The cakes were meh, nothing special and hardly any flavor, but costed $9 and I was not communicated any such price when requesting the side. The blackened tips and scallops were just a whole fail. The tips were burnt, had absolutely no flavor at all, and just left everything to be desired. The scallops also had absolutely no flavor whatsoever and were grossly chewy. This was truly such a complete disappointment and scarred our appetite to...
Read moreI really am not one to go on the computer and take time to leave a bad review, but I left Eastside Grill with wet clothes and a bad taste in my mouth. The waitstaff didn't seem to stoked to seat my fiance and I, and I couldn't really tell why. We're late 20's / early 30's, friendly, respectful, and were dressed nice for a date night, but the staff didn't really seem like they wanted us there. It could've been an accident, but our waitress spilled my cocktail all over my clothes and my bag, getting my phone and wallet wet, so she just refilled my glass with what was in the cocktail shaker. She didn't bring me a new drink, and we were still charged full price for the drink. My fiance and I took this as a "we weren't welcome" at Eastside Grill. I feel like if it was an accident, our server would have provided a replacement or not charged us full price for the drink, even though half of it ended up all over me and my stuff. The chicken I ordered was wicked dry, which I wouldn't even go out of my way to write a poor review about, I don't even care, but the fact that our server "spilled" my drink all over me didn't apologize, and still charged us full price left me with a pretty negative feeling. I'm sure that's not what Eastside Grill is about, but the wet clothes and wet bag made us feel pretty upset. We did see a cool rainbow at the end of our meal though, so that was...
Read moreWe have been dining here off and on for many years and have watched its steady decline. It has never been the same since Dan and Gail owned it. The good: food is average and overrated. The bad: They take reservations every night except Saturday, the busiest night of the week! How does that make any sense? We waited for just under an hour last evening and watched potential customer after customer leave because of the wait. One group of six were told it would be a two hour wait. You do not want to sit on the left side of the restaurant, the noise level is simply unbearable. It is one of loudest restaurants around with terrible acoustics. The tables are so close, you will spend the evening in the middle of someone else's conversation all night, which is exactly what we did last night. We had the worst table in the place, right adjacent to the kitchen so that every time the door was opened, it slammed into our table. At least on the right side of the restaurant, the booths MAY shield some of the noise, but this is NOT the place to go for a quiet dinner out. Desserts were fair, the coffee cold. It was an exceptionally poor night out and a waste of money. Eastside is overrated and is living off its reputation derived from the previous owners. We...
