Galyean's Deli and Seafood Market — Restaurant in Northampton

I was searching online for a good seafood market in the area, when I found this place. After reading some reviews, I was concerned about the customer service and long waits. The most important factor when I decide who to do business with, is and always will be, customer service. Having said that, I do not mind waiting for a good product and good service. I dont mind paying more for a good product and service. And I don't mind driving out of my way either. There were several employees working when I entered, and they were assisting some customers already. It was obvious I would be waiting. As I mentioned before, I don't mind waiting. What I cannot tolerate is poor and inexcusable service. They couldn't be bothered to greet me when I entered. They couldn't be bothered to say we will be with you soon. They just completely acted as if I didn't exist and couldn't even acknowledge my presence as I stood there for several minutes. It is a shame to see businesses and customer facing employees who don't understand even the basics of customer service and friendliness, when it costs you nothing and is fundamental to building a loyal customer base....

Honest to God I don't know how these people are still in business. The food is great, and cheap. The service is severely lacking. Expect to wait 15 to 30 minutes to even talk to a counterperson to put your order in. Went in today, 9 people in line. One person making sandwiches, while three other people wander around in the back. One employee even proudly exclaims that all she does is deli meats and sides, no hoagies. Literally stands there watching the line build up. Why is she not cross trained? Four people walked in and out once they saw the line. Unless you call ahead, don't bother. Definitely don't stop here on your lunch break, you'll be waiting the whole time just for your food. Probably exceed 30 minutes. I walked out empty handed after...

I bought 100 clams and a piece of haddock...driving home I noticed a rotten fish smell...opened bag of clams and it reeked...drove back and said something is wrong...the guy said clams do smell...I bought clams before and never smelled like this...they opened netting and some clams were open and spoiling...they gave me another bag...also the haddock was in a separate bag...we cooked everything next day and when we opened the haddock the plastic bag wasn't sealed...I bought haddock before and it's normally all white...this haddock had black-gray in it...we threw it away...long story short...I'm going back to...
