I recently had the misfortune of dining at this sad excuse for a restaurant, and I must say it was a nightmarish experience that left a sour taste in my mouth, quite literally. From the moment I entered this so-called pizza restaurant, I knew I was in for a disastrous meal.
Firstly, the ambiance was appalling. The dimly lit interior resembled a rundown basement, complete with peeling wallpaper and dingy tables. It seemed like they hadn't put any effort into creating a welcoming atmosphere for their customers. The overall cleanliness of the place was questionable, and the pungent smell of stale grease hung in the air.
Moving on to the service, it was nothing short of abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and lacked basic customer service skills. It took an eternity for someone to acknowledge our presence and seat us at a sticky table. Our server, was rude, inattentive, and made us feel like we were a burden. It felt like we were interrupting their personal conversation rather than being served.
Now, let's talk about the main event: the pizza. I can confidently say it was the worst pizza I have ever had the displeasure of consuming. The crust was cardboard-like and tasted more like a chewy sponge than the crispy delight one would expect. The toppings were sparse and looked like they had been sloppily thrown on without any care or attention. The cheese was bland and lacked any flavor, while the sauce was overly sweet and lacked any hint of tanginess. It was as if they were using cheap, low-quality ingredients or had absolutely no understanding of what constitutes a good pizza.
To make matters worse, the wait time for our pizza was excruciatingly long. We watched in frustration as other tables who arrived after us were served before us. When the pizzas finally arrived, they were lukewarm at best, indicating that they had been sitting around for far too long before being served. I understand the chef is a very busy executive and cooks a lot but this was so bad.
Considering the exorbitant prices they charged, one would expect a modicum of quality and taste, but Anzio's failed to deliver on every front. I left the restaurant feeling disappointed, hungry, and regretful for wasting my time and money.
In conclusion, I strongly advise avoiding this sad excuse of a restaurant if you value your taste buds, your time, and your overall dining experience. This establishment lacks the most basic standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable pizza joint that knows how to serve a delicious pie and treat their customers...

We had the fried mozzarella app, which was the best dish we had! The hand-cut mozzarella is breaded and fried perfectly to create a crunchy crust and gooey center. I can eat two plates of this by myself.
Followed by the salads: Caesar with anchovy and the Caprino with goat cheese and candied walnuts. I was hoping for white anchovies with my Caesar but got the traditional salt and oil marinated ones, instead. The Caprino was good, commented by my wife.
My seafood di mare was bland, could at the least use some salt. The shrimp was a bit overcooked, mussels were fresh, and the calamari was OK. I would have liked to see some baby clams and calamari tentacles (instead of all rings) in the dish. Perhaps even offered in a fra Diavolo version.
I've heard great things about the Il Prociutto pizza, so I ordered a large (we all love Prociutto, even my 5 year old), and leftovers are always welcomed. This version of a prosciutto pizza has the potential of being excellent, if the crust was little thinner and have stayed in the over for another 60 or so seconds. Some slices were thicker and overall the bottom crust was a little doughy. I liked the balance of prosciutto, caramelized onion, and basalmic reduction. The flavor was balanced and very cheesy.
Lastly, I had the frutti di bosco for my desert and it was underwhelming. Maybe I should have ordered the Gelato flight? Where was the traditional tiramisu or panna cotta?
Overall, the food has the potential of be excellent and the service was impeccable! I do feel for the price our meal should have been better. I will update my review in the near future after my next visit, a couple of...
Read moreI dont know where to begin. We reserved a pizza truck for a baby shower through Anzios. The booking process was easy, however what unfolded at our event was a nightmare. For starters, the truck was late, and when it arrived they were unable to drive the truck onto the flat grass area we had for them, so thankfully mt husband was able to get in and park the truck. Next, we noticed the pizza taking quite a bit of time. When I approached the workers, they told me only 10 more minutes. At this point the food was supposed to be served 30 minutes prior. Baby showers are not long which is why I scheduled the truck to be ready to serve right at the start of the event. After 20 minutes I went back and they said the bottom of the pizzas werent cooking and to give them another 10 minutes. They couldnt of seemed less invested in trying to make this work, were on their phones and never communicated with me unless I went up to them. Now we are half way through the event, I have no food for my guests and I am mortified. I call Anzios restaurant myself and ask them to bring pizzas immediately to which they told me it would be an hour. This is a call I should of never had to make. The employees at my house should have done this an hour before when they realized the oven wasnt working. Several people left the shower without ever eating, and most left saying they hope I got a full refund. This was horrible business, I never recieved a follow up from the manager and on top of this, the employees couldnt hatch the grill to the van and I had to have my husband help again. I was humiliated not being able to serve my guests and would never recommend Anzios to anyone. What a dissappointing experience...
