My friends and I went to Lalo’s for lunch one day, and overall, it was a pretty good experience. The food was decent, but the service was phenomenal. The waiters were super attentive—they kept checking in on us, refilling our drinks, and restocking the complimentary chips and salsa without us even asking. That level of attention really stood out.
As for the food, the salsa wasn’t my favorite—it was okay but didn’t really wow me. I ordered the spicy sauce enchiladas, and let me tell you, if you love spice, these are for you. I thought I enjoyed spicy food, but this was on another level. Thankfully, the sour cream helped mellow it out a bit. My friend got the plain red sauce enchiladas, and she liked them, but we both agreed the sauces overall weren’t the best.
That said, the meal was still enjoyable. The atmosphere inside is really nice—great decor and a good vibe overall. If you’re in the Glenview area and craving Mexican food, Lalo’s is a solid choice, especially since there aren’t a ton of options around here. The amazing service definitely makes it...
Read moreNot gonna lie not the best experience but they had a very nice and attentive staff so there was def pros and cons. Stopped by with my mom last night because we were craving the Sopa Marina and we usually drive all the way out to the Harlem location but this one was closer to our new house so we decided why not. The other location usually offers a small chicken soup before your entree which the server said would be right out but never came out. We shared an app which was quite delicious. Margaritas were half priced apparently on Mondays and Tuesdays so we ordered a pitcher but it seemed a little bit on the lighter side (my mom thought it was Virgin but it was probably a light pour because they were half off). The soup was off it still had sand from the clams so it was a bit grainy and the flavor just seemed a bit muted compared to the other locations. Service was good but not enough to be returning to...
Read moreI tried to love this place. I have tried it before but was disappointed once again. Good atmosphere. Good service. But the food is poorly made. This time we tried 3 items to go. Shrimp Ceviche - a lot more veggies than shrimp and a lot of liquid. Tostada dinner - I asked for each tostada to be wrapped separately, so they don't stick together. What I got was a container of over cooked little chicken balls. No tostadas, the sides in cups, no rice or beans. Lastly, we ordered the Botana platter (mixed appetizers). It was stuffed and stacked in one styrofoam box and all stuck together by the cheese. The only thing edible was the tamales because they were wrapped in corn husks. I will say that they were tasty. But for almost $70 that was a big waste of money. My last time coming here. There are so many great Mexican restaurants in the area. I hope that...
