Ok, so today I was working in Glenview at the library. I work up a big appetite when I work, as I do manual labor. That usually means I'll take anything handed to me and scarf it down in 30 seconds and feel completely satisfied regardless of what I'm eating or how good it is. Not today... I tried this place because it was across the street. They had pizza by the slice a lunch specials, so I ordered 2 slices of sausage pizza. One thing crust and one deep dish. The thin crust came out first, and at first it seemed standard, maybe a little too much grease pooling on top and cheese a little too yellow, but that's not uncommon so I didn't think much of it. Then I bit into it. The crust was hard and had no flavor besides maybe the taste of ashes? The sauce was a garlic bomb. As anticipated the cheese was no good, I don't know if maybe this pizza was overcooked (I forgot to mention that the pizza slices come out looking almost microwaved, this may be specific to the lunch specials as they are taking slices from a whole pizza that was precooked and potentially not kept warm but cooled down to last longer maybe) the sausage was close to being alright but the flavors weren't there, no fennel no spice no tang just a filler (with maybe more garlic on top of the already brutally garlic sauce). Also on a side note to reference how much garlic there was, I really love garlic and it was obnoxiously too much garlic. So that was the first bite, then they brought out the deep dish slice. This looked much more promising although the crust was oddly opaque and the sauce very dark almost shaded looking. Melty cheese was a good color. Okay so before I get to my first bite, I have to cut it with a fork and knife, but the crust was not wanting to be cut. Again, seemingly stale and hard. The might have been alright (although bordering on frozen pizza cheese) was too much and it remained melty but solid, difficult to cut. I ended up struggling to fork off a lot of the cheese to make the ratio better. Very odd consistency of the cheese which never seemed to solidify again after cooling down. I took a second and third bite of the deep dish, still trying to find something to enjoy out of it. To no avail, I revisited the first slice to see if maybe farther into the slice I would find some reasonable flavor. Nope, not today. I threw out two almost uneaten slices (the thin crust about a 9" slice and the deep dish about a 7" slice. I don't believe they used any oregano in their recipes for anything, and if they did it was a waste because the only thing I tasted semblant of food was the garlic which I currently realized most likely was jarred garlic and not fresh which typically has a slightly rancid taste to it due to the presvatives. Lastly the ambiance of the place was nothing to write home about, which is not surprising as it appeared to be primarily a pickup and delivery establishment. I first gave no attention to any of the "decor" or lack there of (Faded blue painted wood paneling throughout and that's it) due to my intense hunger. the storefront is oddly placed on the street side near an intersection, while the parking lot is on the opposite side and has its own entrance which is just an oddly slanted hallway that suddenly ends in a corner( which has an ice cream cooler waste hight tucked in it taking up half the already small to begin with hallway like lobby) thatwraps around the cashier and has maybe 6 seats next to the storefront. All in all, it was possibly the worst pizza I've ever gotten from a pizza place. I award you no stars and may G*d have mercy on your soul. I only pray you actually provide something of at least acceptable quality for the only customers you seem to care about, the delivery and...
Read moreWe have been ordering for years, the past three orders were ordered because we told our guest how good it was, my thin crust pizza came burnt, no garlic bread for our pasta came, and none of the extra sauce we ordered came, so we called and talked to a so called manager named Eric “ he proceeded to explain to us not to order on Friday nite, it’s so busy it will get messed up, he said the owner wants as many orders filled as they can get, didn’t do anything to help our issue but we ordered again, 2 days ago and ordered mostacholli with meat sauce and extra meat sauce, well we received the pasta dry, the chicken tenders cold as the could be, a side of sauce not big enough to fill a cavity. So I called and talked with maggie she reassured me that right after her shift she would send a text to the owner Doug because I want my 50 dollars back this time, never received any phone call from anyone to this day, I am a manager in the north shore and I’ll be dammed if I ever abandon anyone of my customers in a situation like this, I will keep trying to get ahold of Doug until I get satisfaction, Maggie says she wishes she was a manager that she would make sure this doesn’t happen to great customers such as us ? Well then I vote for Maggie foe manager and maybe then...
Read moreSo myself and my fiancé came in because of audition he has in Chicago, we decide to stay on the out parts of Chicago. We decided that we wanted some pizza, so we googled pizza shops near us, and found Viccino’s, so webdecided to try them. Once there, the young lady at the counter taking orders was so scared of us she started shaking, and couldn’t even look at us while taking our order. We order a whole pizza, and she tried to convince us it would take 25-30mins to make the pizza, and that we should buy slices(I guess she wanted us out fast) my fiancé was very adamant, and said no we want the whole pizza, she was like are you sure it’s going to take 35-45 mins(Remind you it was no one else waiting for pizza) so he answered her yes. So she took the order, it took maybe 15 mins to bring the pizza out.. When leaving we asked her for crush pepper, when she handed the pepper to my fiancé, she was so nerves and scared to hand it to him, she didn’t want her hand to touch his hand, she kept dropping it on the counter. Moral of the story is, if your not use to seeing other Ethnic groups outside of your own, maybe you shouldn’t work with the public.. I will not...
