After asking my peeps for suggestions, one place in particular came up many times - Carluccio's Coal-fired Pizza! My hubby and I were on our way to his birthday gift to see Bill Burr in Atlantic City and this was a convenient stop. We got there around 6 PM on a Friday night, and not surprised, there was already a wait. The host was pleasant and calm - even with the organized chaos of takeout orders and people waiting to be seated. It was standing room only for majority of us waiting. It actually didn’t bother us because we got to window shop all the different kinds of pizza in the display case. We also had a front row seat watching pizza being made. Once seated, dining is definitely intimate with other diners. To get the most out of their seating, the tables are set real close together. Again, no big deal. We sat with those that we waited with, so we already kind of knew them. We decided before we sat that we were only ordering the Grandma pizza with pepperoni. We figured it was a great pizza to start with, and we could always come back to try other things off of the menu. Bring your appetite! We barely could eat two slices. It was Sicilian style and the collective seasonings and garlic just melted in our mouth! As good as it was, we took the other half home for lunch the next day. And by the way, it reheats perfectly on a pizza stone. This is a clear contender with our favorite go-to place in Philly. If it were closer to our home, it would be a tie. But what definitely sets it apart is the menu choices. I saw at least three other things. I wanted to try that were not pizza. And there are other pizzas I want to try! We already told our kids that we will be taking them there this summer. In addition, I have already made a mental note that the next time I’m showing a home in the Atlantic City area, I have to take a Pizza home with me. So… do I recommend Carluccio's Coal fired Pizza? 💯! #trustkj

On my annual trek down to Galloway, I discovered that a relatively nearby restaurant had been featured not once but twice on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Carluccio's Coal Fired Pizza in Northfield, so I had to check it out. I timed my arrival so that it was right between lunch and dinner, and wouldn't you know it, I was told by friendly regular Reuben, who sat next to me at the counter, that indeed, I'd just missed the rush. Service was prompt and uber-friendly. Clearly many of the patrons were well-known frequent visitors, greeted with warmth and in some cases well-intentioned and well-received ribbing. I'd already checked out the menu before getting there so had decided on the Pappardelle alla Siciliana pasta, but since I was at a place that had a coal fired pizza oven, I bemoaned the fact that I wouldn't be getting one to my counter-mate, Reuben. Not a problem! He had ordered one and offered me a slice once it came...perfect solution and extremely neighborly of him! His white pizza with fresh mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto de Parma, roasted tomatoes and shaved parmesan was delectable. He suggested other menu options that were not to be missed...this is when I wished I'd had my Pubonion friends with me to order and swap out different dishes! My steaming bowl of pappardelle boasted perfectly cooked fresh noodles, chockful of Italian sausage crumbles, fresh mushroom slices, roasted eggplant and just the right amount of melted mozzarella on top. As I left, I passed the case that likened that of a pastry shop, displaying the various inventive pizza options that you could order by the slice. Wish I'd thought to get a picture of that, and also wish my schedule had allowed me to come back for an encore visit during the week!

We were staying in Brigantine and we haven't been to Carluccio's for sometime. Joe, our server, was awesome. The food, delicious, as we remembered. My son said he hadn't had a good pizza in a very long time and he enjoyed the plain cheese pizza very much. We ordered the coal fire wings, the gnocchi with pesto sauce, the flounder francese and the lobster ravioli. All were delicious! Sept 2021 From Carluccio' s appetizers to their variety of pizza to their pasta dishes, there is something you will enjoy at Carluccio's. Some of our tried and true favorites, the antipasto, so fresh, the coal fired wings are a must try. "Grandma's" pizza and Carlo's pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe and beans. After a day at the beach, having a meal that is homemade, is why we love going to Carluccio's. Carlo and staff, thank you for your awesome food. 9/12/2023… Carluccios food is consistently delicious! We were staying in Brigantine and wanted some Italian food and pizza and Carluccios came to mind so we took a fast trip in and Michelle, our server, was so very nice and we had an awesome meal from coal fired wings, to fried zucchini to delicious pizza and pasta that was so very good and a veal parmigiana sandwich. No room for dessert with all that yummy food. Looking forward to our yearly return trip!

Stop here! Excellent restaurant with great flavors that tantalize and intoxicate... Did I say how much I love the food? Awesome! Pizzas are great, entrées are great, sandwiches are great, and even the salad with house dressing is great. Just stop and give it a try. 2017-04-18 still fantastic! 2019-07-01 Today I had Pappardelle ai Funghi Melenzane Salsiccia and a slice of Grandma's Pizza Pie. Perfect 10? YES! Fantastic! 2020-07-27 A 4 hour drive round trip and $9.00 in tolls couldn't keep me from making a trip to Carluccio's. By far my favorite ever! Thanks to the crew keeping her open during these trying times. 2021-11-29 OMG this place just keeps getting better! Every time I come here. I can't believe how great this food is. Today I had the PAPPARDELLE ALLA SICILIANA which is a must order. I can't believe how much I am addicted to this stuff. I also picked up a grandma's pizza which I can't get past because it's so good I just order it everyone. The people here are so friendly and nice and I can't tell you how much I love this place. Phenomenal!!!

Dropped by Carluccio's on the afternoon of the 4th of July. As expected, they were fairly busy, but we were promptly greeted and shown to a table. This was my first trip to this establishment (but it won't be my last) and I'll admit that I was a bit overwhelmed by the huge number of choices before me. After perusing the menu, I opted to try an assortment of different coal fired pizzas by the slice. I sampled the South Western, Meatlovers, & BBQ Chicken (after all, it was July 4th) pizzas with an ice cold Coke. All three choices were great, but the South Western & Meatlovers pizzas were a step above the BBQ Chicken, imho. Don't get me wrong, I'd chow into any of the three again in a heartbeat, but if I'd had room for another piece of pizza it would've been a difficult choice between the two frontrunners. I can't wait until I'm back in the area so that I can explore the menu at Carluccio's Coal Fired Pizzas further. You should definitely consider trying them yourself. Highly recommended!

This is definitely the best sicilian pizza that I have ever had in my life. I am a very picky lady. We went to this place because of it being on our Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives lists. We travel all over during our retirement adventure and have been literally from East to West, North to South and many out of our beloved American adventures that can not come close to ever compare to the taste of this mouth watering place. We usually don't visit a place twice during our adventures unless we have time and have had a very memorable time. We will be back before we leave the area oh and almost forgot we made sure to get a New York style pizza to go which was just as amazing which we will being again. The lady that I sat next to had the chicken parmesan and that will be what I am trying it was huge and I so wanted to take a bite. So if I could give this place a 10 star it would be. Don't miss out on this perfectly sized homemade Italian place. It was perfect!
