Unreliable, judgemental, condescending and sarcastically rude on purpose insulted my intelligence. It wont be fair to say everyone it was just the two older ladies that have longer hair. I do not know anyone in this place that why i do not give names. A gentlemen from the back came out and state, "the order wasn't fully made until paid". I appretiated his time and told him i literally paid yesterday. She literally did not take the full payment because i told her no i am going to paid half now and the rest when i pick up the cake. I had to bring the gender on the envelop anyways. I told her i wanted to cut down in price that i am on a budget. So she quoted me for a cake with out decoration and one with the decorations she felt like it not the ones i initially wanted. So decided to get the full decorated cake I asked for a fontant bunny complementing the cake initially and she said "They had to go in the back and bake it, no time for it" so i said "i really want it,i'll make it my self is fine" so purchase the stuff for it then if i am spending on decoration i am better of decorating the cake my self. The main reason i am getting this cake is for the gender revel and do not have someone to help me on it. I can due. So before making the payment took notes and was left pensive.
So thursday comes i wanted to confirm the boy cake because i was left confused by this berry not good in communication lady. Then she asked me to give her what flavor i wanted the cake or they weren't unable to make it. Ok so i told her mam'm i dont know the gender that why i give you the order if is a boy and if is a girl options so once i bring the sonogram reveling the gender you all ready have it as you told me that you need it the gender two days before making the cake that the actual cake with decorations you were ok with... On my life "not complicated at all"...
Ok so i mention to her someone is going to drop the envelop i am working on a registry and literally have court tomorow. So she stated we can due red velvet and just bring the sonogram tomorow then change the filling. Literally spend time all ready making the choices for a boy or girl... Why is she adding unnecessary pressure literally raining on my parade changing things. So i made two index cards one for boy and one for girl on what we previously discuss maybe that helps.... And literally told her you are not going to ruin this for me. I am explaining how i had been holding on to this envelop not knowing the gender and planing about it. Then once she looks for my order said,she has me under a different name ( so i thought how did you charge me yesterday with out puting the correct ID). I was going to get smart but realized she was been condescending,sarcastically rude and verry dismissive on purpose...Never met any of them neither they know me for sure other then confirming my payment method. I hear their small talk, where one of the girls stated, "she is verry upset and another one had a smirk... So i spoke up and told her i postpone this for me and my baby and i am on the last month of my pregnancy.... Speaking to one of you over the phone more then a month ago and you couldn't be professional? So please i want to talk to a manager or the owner... They said not currently here... Then i started to record and she told another male assotiate you know she is recording... (so she need it to be recorded in order to provide normal customer service). I move my mask a little be out of my mouth because it went into my mouth and she stated "you dont even have your mask properly agitating her arms around approaching her other coworker. Not been truth (mask on)So i said "Are you serious right now?" Then she stated"you are pregnant" and all i thought was she haven't cared about me telling her i am on my last month and they are more then screwing me over... But since i am recording she is going to proceed and be a pathetic dramatic...person and try to make it sound as if i am the one screwing with her.I asked for the manager or owner one more time and then just walked away....
Read moreI ordered my wedding cake for my wedding this September 25th, 2022. I was very specific with Amanda and send her pictures of exactly what I wanted (seen below in the first photo). She told me she would be able to do it if I paid an extra $500 for a design fee. I said okay since this was my dream wedding cake..When I walked into my reception, I saw this (picture 2). I was told she would do piped little white buttercream flowers.. in person they were hard candy sugar flowers on wire not even cascading like the picture. I wanted a very specific colored blue flower design to match my bridesmaid dresses and decor and not only were the blues on this cake not matching each other (the crest was neon blue and the flowers were a gray blue)..they weren’t even close to the picture style or color wise. I wanted a tall, narrow cake.. again.. just like the picture. I have voiced to amanda through many many emails what I wanted. To top it off, the cake itself was cream, not white. In the end it didn’t feel like she cared enough to actually listen to what I wanted. If I am paying a $500 design fee, I expect it to be as close to what I wanted as possible. I have since emailed her twice after my wedding and she has chosen to ignore my emails. It was very upsetting to see the day of my wedding. Read moreI went to The Bake Works. There were two women ahead of me--one was paying & the other began to place her order. As I was waiting, two gentlemen enter the place of business. Once the lady was finished paying for order, the worker asked who was next. At that time, the gentlemen pointed to me & I raised my hand. The worker proceeded to help one of the gentleman that came in AFTER me. He spoke up & stated, "She was next in line."--pointing to me. The worker said, "Oh you're just picking up an order I will take you!"--continuing to ignore that I was next in line. At this point, I said, "WOW!!" and walked out. Once back in my car, I called to speak with someone about what just happened. I was told that they were very busy & the worker needed me to wait!! I waited long enough until my turn & she still took the gentleman in front of me.
NO EXCUSE!! This is how you treat your customers when it's busy??!! I am very disappointed--as I have always purchased my cakes at The Bake Works. Perhaps it was the color of my skin?? Nonetheless, I have filed a complaint with the BBB & will not patronage this...
