I had the opportunity to visit the Northfield location for the first time and was pleased to see on this hot Summer day it was not crowded. Maybe two customers besides myself. A young lady, Gabby, working there seemed very irritated while serving myself and my grandson.. and even moreso when I had questions (are there any specials for buying quarts)? I asked the price for each quart because some of the flavors listed were not my favorites but decided to still buy 4 quarts. While I should have been offered cups and spoons at the end of my order, she seemed even more bothered that I asked for them, she gave me 4 spoons and when I continued to stand there still waiting for the cups, there was a look of...why are you still standing here we're busy, I need to help the next customer. (Mind you there were no other customers waitingš¤). She responded nastily, "is there anything else!?" I asked for the cups. She says, how many do you want, I said 8, (I had my 4 grandchildren, my son and his wife and then there was my husband over and was surprising the kids with Rita'sšš¤©). I then was asked again sounding irritated, anything else? I said yes enough spoons to go with the cups. While she proceeded to gather the spoons I notice with no gloves that she was handing them to me from the end you put in your mouth, with no gloves on. I said thank you and returned to my car. There was no "thank you," "come again," "enjoy your water ice," "have a nice day," or even a smile (nope no mask). As a customer, we are the ones who make or break a business and how we are treated will either bring us back or steer us clear away. Let's just say I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN! Thank you Gabby for losing a customer today with your NOT so winning personality and poor hygiene ethics during COVID. I am a nurse so I know how difficult it can be sometimes when it's busy or I'm having a rough day but I always smile and am courteous (please and thank you goes a long way). Your lack of customer service will cause this business and owner some money in the long run. Try to smile and say thank you. It's really good for the soul too!
Spoke with melissa as the manager.. she gets 5 stars. She was very professional and apologetic but unfortunately, Gabby will not get another chance. She was downright rude. I support businesses who appreciate my business. Shame because I was doing an upcoming event and was looking at a large delivery order with servers but I won't take a chance on people feeling the way she treated my grandson and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally would not post something like this but I am shocked over the interaction I had from the manager/Owner of the Ritas in Northfield. My husband went out to get us and our baby ice cream as an end of summer treat. Immediately after one taste of the ice cream, we could tell something was off. The ice cream was obviously sour and had a very odd taste and smell to it. I returned to Ritaās with the intention to just let them know in case someone said something and to get a refund. I first spoke to an employee who then directed me to the manager/owner. I explained the situation and she very rudely told me there was no chance the ice cream is sour or has any odd taste to it. I told her that was fine but I would like a refund. She then insisted my husband must have left the ice cream in the car too long and that it had melted and thatās why it tasted sour. I explained to her we live right down the road. She then wanted me to look at the packaging of the ice cream to check the expiration date because she states it is delivered fresh everyday. I tell her that wonāt be necessary I would just like a refund and she can trash our ice cream. I was issued the refund and she then insisted on getting one more jab in stating again my husband obviously left the ice cream in the car for way too long.
This interaction especially as a business owner was beyond inappropriate. Mistakes happen and thatās totally okay. I just wanted a refund without making my husband and I feel stupid. My one year old baby was about to eat that ice cream. I donāt want that to be someone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited your facility yesterday (Sunday 6/2616) about 2'ish. and I was appalled on how busy your establishment was with ONLY ONE employee working. Here it is a Sunday afternoon, people are off from work, coming off the beach, and wanting a cool refreshment. And ONLY ONE employee working. I felt horrible for the young lady. She was totally professional, and kept her cool. I waited 30 minutes just to get served... When I finally reached the window, I said to her "you are doing a great job handling this BIG crowed all by yourself, she smiled and said thank you"... As I was walking to my vehicle, there was a bus load of people that just arrived, and at least 20 or so got off that bus and formed a even LONGER line, which the line almost reached the middle of the parking lot, maybe longer.. My heart just broke for that young lady... When I reached my car, there was an elderly couple that pulled up at your establishment, and I explained to them the situation about there ONLY being ONE employee working, and that, that was the reason for the tremendous line that was forming, they thanked me and pulled away... I felt it was TOO HOT for those elderly people to stand on that ridiculous line to be waited on by ONLY ONE employee!!! I hope this young lady gets recognized for the OUSTANDING JOB she did yesterday handling the ridicules crowd... I rate your establishment with ONLY ONE STAR, but I rate FIVE STARS for the ONLY young lady that was working that Sunday (6/26/16)...
