Northlake Cafe — Restaurant in Northlake

Very disappointed today with NLC. My wife and I order two different breakfast sandwiches. (Croissant with egg scrambled bacon) (cinnamon swirl with egg scrambled sausage). When we received our order they had mixed our sandwiches up the sausage and bacon in the wrong sandwiches. We asked kindly to fix our order. They took the plates back and returned with in 2 minutes. I quickly could see they had just simply opened the sandwiches and swapped the eggs with sausage and bacon. How could I tell? Well before they took our plates back I have cut my sandwich in half and when they returned them. I could see my wife had the eggs and bacon in her sandwich and it was cut in half. I then asked for my check because I wasn’t going to eat any more. Our waitress returned with a manager and my ticket. I looked at the ticket and they expected us to pay the full meal. The manager said they would remake our meals but I was not interested at that point. I told them I would not pay for the meal but just the coffee that we had before our meal. They took the meal off the ticket and I paid for the coffees. Makes you wonder if they do this if they mess up orders with two separate tables. I will not go back because of...

What a pleasant surprise this place was. The Northlake Café has such a creative and extensive breakfast menu. We went there for lunch but both ended up ordering something from the breakfast menu. My wife had a Greek Omelet which was very large and filled with Greek flavor. Different than most omelets we have had. The potatoes on the side ere also excellent. I had Breakfast Enchiladas. I have had other Tex-Mex breakfast items at places before but never enchiladas. The chipotle hollandaise on these is really flavorful without being heavy. Could use a little more chorizo, but everything else is perfect. The house potatoes are very well done and are great to dip in the hollandaise as well. With such an extensive menu also featuring sandwiches and salads, I feel we have just touched the surface here and will return often. On a Saturday at about 1:00 pm it was quite crowded but service was still very crisp. In fact, we were pleasantly shocked how quickly our food arrived. *The GF Pancakes are no longer the delicious ones you see in these photos. They switched them to some really gross syrup that they swirl into the pancakes & we have not been back since. RESPONSE TO OWNER: We DID make mention to our server, showed her our review pictures and we were told what we were served is the new way they were making them. My son didn’t eat his at all, I ended up giving him most of my food. If you’re saying it is like the photos below, will try again & update.

Staff was inviting, phenomenal covered patio seating & food was scrumptious. 4-stars because the spoon in one coffee was more than a little dirty (looked like crusty baked cheese on it). The blueberries & grapes were mushy/past prime. Gluten free options were bountiful, which was great! They offer GF pancakes, waffles, toast, sausage patties & omelets.
